O.K. I need to lose bodyfat. I read body for life. It says to work out in the morning on an empty stomach. Everything I have ever read says to eat before and within one half hour after. My question is. Does the catabolic state I will produce not eating in the morning allow me to burn more fat? Or am I just going to catabolize muscle? Does one out weigh the other?

IMO it would be ok to do some moderate cardio on an empty stomach but NEVER lift empty stomach. this is risking putting yourself in a huge catabolic state.

Most definately

Personally, I can't even do cardio on an empty stomach unless I'm forced to. I'll pass out.
