Hey I am a thrower for my college. I am 6'5 and 250 pounds and this summer I have to dedicate myself to lifting and gettin in the best shape of my life. I have already decided that I will be taking Swole V2. I am trying to bulk up with muscle and try to lose some of my bf% at the same time. Ok so I am trying to eat healthier but its kinda been hard. But anyways I was thinking I need more protein in my diet. Would investing in some protein shakes do any good for me? Would they help me get in better shape? I appreciate any help. Thanks

regardless of your goals you need protein, if you weight train and want to gain muscle, yes you not only need protein but more of it, 1 to 1.5grams of protein per pound of bodyweight.

the best source of protein is food, but it can be difficult to get enough protein from food alone, so adding some protein shakes is a good way to get adequate protein.

I agree with Prince.
do you know how many grams of protein you are getting each day now?
you should be having a serving at each meal, regardless.

protein shakes are good, but dont do much if you dont modify your diet at least a little bit. if youre eating twinkies for breakfast lunch and dinner, protein shakes just aint gonna do it for you. they may help a bit tho.

kvyd....I am in school at youngstown state univeristy in ohio. I am not gonna start taking protein shakes until the summer when I don't have to eat campus food. I plan on concentrating on eating peanut butter, chicken, and other high protein foods. By the way what are some other high protein foods that you reccomend? I really have no clue how much protein I get daily now cuz I am stuck eating campus food. I was also thinking about buying Optimum 100% Whey Protein, what do you think of that? And sorry one more question...I am 250 pounds and I heard 1 gram of protein for each pound. So I will need 250 grams of protein a day? Wouldnt that take like 3 shakes a day? Thanks for your help guys I am new at this and trying to learn.

meat... cheese... beans all have tons of protein. yes, a lot of people have 3 shakes a day... 3 solid meals and shakes in between. i would personally recommend replacing the shakes with good food like tuna, chicken, steak, etc. IF you have time to.

of course it depends on your current stats but regardless of what anyone says i'm convinced that 30-40 g per meal (providing you eat 5-6 meals a day) is sufficient... unless of course you're an absolute animal...
