What is it doing to me? You obviously do not realize, because most of us are still healthy individuals.

What obvious side effects? Oh yes, the increased sex drive and larger muscles. I honestly dont feel terrible about it, but I respect you not wanting these side effects. It really is a responsibility.

It is not cheating if it is an open organization, if its an organization for DRUG FREE ATHELETES then yes I agree its cheating and I hate seeing it, but people still do it.

Yes smoking is very different. All the costs and health hazards without any benefit to the user.

Steroids give benefits, and the health issues are something you can watch.

Smokers smoke year round, and its bad for you no matter what. Most steroid users cycle, and will not harm health if you are not stupid, otherwise steroids would not be used in medicine.

I can't remember the last time a doctor prescribed smoking.

Penis shrinkage is a stupid myth. Testicular shrinkage IS a possibility, and is controlled mostly by cycles - however there is HCG and other items that can help.

Rage is largely a fallacy. I have had enough testosterone in my body to put me 10x over normal, and it helps my anxiety - can't say I've evern been angry because of testosterone. In interviews with 49 AAS users, at least 1 DSM-III-R symptom of dependence was reported by 94% of the sample, while 3 or more symptoms were reported by 57% of the sample.[47] The authors concluded that AASs were addictive and suggested that dissatisfaction with body size and increases in size and strength obtained with AASs may lead to patterns of dependent use.

Smoking kills up to 5,000 fetuses each year and 6,200 children, gives asthma to thousands more, and kills 625,000 adults. What exactly is powerfull to you? Do you really believe that a million or more people are dying from steroids each year to make this worse than smoking?

You sell yourself short here, and me as well. This is not a fact, please stick to the facts.

Do you want to know whats bad about steroids?

* Possibility of liver cancer by users who abuse orals
* Possibility of gynecomastia from estrogenic side effects
* Possibility of high blood pressure from water retention
* Possiblity of abcess in tissues from infection etc
* Possibility of kidney issues, mostly from diuretic abuse
* Possibility of cholesterol problems from hormonal imballance which could lead even to death
* hGH use from cadaveurs leading to possible brain diseases

This covers the basics. The people who use year round, would be advised to get blood work done at least every 2 months, but often they get work done more often than that.

I once was the same way, why? Because I didn't know anything about it. I was never hatefull against steroids or people that used them, I just assumed they were bad for you and therefore people were selling thier lives short for using them.

I bought a book about them in 1996 that was mostly over my head so it did me little good to read it. Then when coming on the net to read about BB stuff I ran into this stuff again, and eventually started reading, out of curiosity as if it was a taboo to be embarrassed about. Rumors spread, and stigma gets attached to things that are often untrue.

You are familiar with the saying, "if I wanted it done right I would have done it myself" - ? If you want to know the truth sometimes you have to investigate on your own. Lots of people have a bias and sometimes will not be completely honest when talking on a subject they know something about, when they know nothing what they say is even more "dangerous."

Protein or diet is never a substitution, gearheads who weigh more, eat more.

But yes, its is somewhat amusing that the supplement industry costs more in general. It depends though how many middlemen someone goes through before they get their product.

There is nothing wrong with saying no thanks. So long as a person does not persecute others when they dont know what they are talking about.

People should not be burned at the stake or imprisoned for using steroids. This is not cocaine or heroin here, people aren't putting themselves on the street with this stuff.

Even someone like me knows the use of steroids has come a long way thru the years. I know guys in their 40s and 50s who stack/cycle and have never had a bad side effect. Ive been tempted to try them but because of my job and testing Ive always been afraid to. Steroid use has always been huge in every competitive sport. Bodybuilding has just gotten a bad rap for it because its a sport that has largely shunned hypocracy and lieing. People tend to forget the huge health benefits the sport has brought humanity and instead like to focus on negativity.

If you want to see steroid use/abuse then just look at the major leauges. Or did you think all those home runs in baseball were being hit cause the wind was blowing out all the time???..........................Rich

Young people are humans just like older people, except your hormone levels are still at their peak. First before starting a person needs a solid training and dietary background, because if you can't make gains naturally you wont do much on gear. Gear doesn't fix all of these things on its own, in fact like I have brought up before gearheads eat harder in shorter stints. Normal guys might bulk with a 500-1000 calorie jump, gear guys could go to 2000 over maintenance, it is generally laborous eating like this day in and day out.

Anyhow, if your doctor really took a look at you and determined that, then the possible side effects are the same, up to and including death.

If you have a heart murmer or blood pressure issues, baldness in the family then you have a lot study to do before you sign on the dotted line.

Research and knowlege of your OWN body and health are the keys to staying fit.

Steroids really can't be legal, unfortunately. No way would the government trust millions of people to carry needles on them and stick themselves. It wouldn't work.

Why not?

Because people are inherently stupid. I mean, think about it. Think of all the problems that would stem from people being able to legally inject themselves whenever they saw fit. Most people can't even take diet pills correctly, let alone jab themselves with a needle.

No doubt in my mind that like cigarettes, people would leave used needles laying around. Kids would find them. It would be bad. Just an all around impossible situation. We all know that there are young kids who smoke cigarettes because they're so readily available through their parents. In fact, just yesterday I spotted a little twelve-year-old girl walking by my place smoking a cigarette. If steroids were legal, it's obvious kids would start taking them, too. Ten-year-old boys sticking themselves in the school bathroom.

You can say that's far-fetched and wouldn't happen, but you're wrong. It totally would. It would be like cigarettes, only worse. At least cigarettes kill you slowly. You inject sloppy enough, or pop enough pills, and you'll be dying way faster than a cigarette could kill you.

Hence, steroids can never be legal.

It was made illegal because the people who controlled sports came to Congress and fed them a bunch of bull. I have no idea why this occured because anyone with a brain knew that steroids were in football at that time. Maybe they really were stupid enough to think it was just a dozen or two NFL players.

I tried, ....I tried to ignore this stupid fuckin thread, but I am sorry. For a person who just read Rick Collin's Anabolics in America for the second time I just couldn't ignore this statement any longer. If I told you the process in which Steroids were scheduled you would be so unbelievably outtraged that our government operates this way you would want to leave the country. The fact is that substances are not scheduled b/c of health risks and concerns, but instead foolish people making monetary-based decisions on our behalf. The fact is that the agencies who were to make the case of whether or not anabolic steroids had the necessary criteria to fall under the scheduling system were the Food and Drug Administration and the DEA, neither of which were convinced that these synthetic hormones should be scheduled. There were false testimonies, flat out lies tossed aorund, and a sea of misinformation feuling this decision, much so to the extent that I could not possibly sit here in one little post and describe the process to you. Just know that it was teh same type of ignorance you have displayed in this very thread, along with political and person gain that was behind teh scheduling of these drugs, which in turn has had several large repurcussions, again to the extent at which you cannot fully describe in this thread. The US government is directly responsible for the black market situation in Mexico and other companies by their actions. I could sit here all day and type about this injustice and that injustice but the fact is that there are too many people out there like you who do not bother to educate themselves on topics before crucifying an entire population of people as you have with your ignorance. The fact is that many bodybuilders may be meatheads, but an incredibly large percentage of the steroid using populace are more educated in biochemistry, and anatomy then some doctors, just from the steroid game. We understand chemical concepts that you baffle you. Maybe if you didn't believe what the government tells you all the time like a drone, and went out and did some research on a topic for yourself, maybe then this wouldn't happen. Do you know how many people die every year from over the counter medications like Tylenol? It is a number much higher than that pf ephedrine-related deaths, and it wouldn't even be fare to compare that to anabolic steroids, since they don't kill people. In fact go through your little medicine cabinet and I bet you almost everything you have in there talllies more deaths singlehandedly then many other more "stigmatized" drugs.. readup
