Today's high carb day was pretty underwhelming, my appetite wasn't really where it usually is, and my figures today carb-wise came up to:
1 1/2 cups oat bran for breakfast
2 cups quick oats in shake PWO
2 cups brown rice PWO2
1 3/4 cups oat bran/oats mix
I've come upon this theory:
Doesn't your caloric intake on high carb days rely very much on your carb CHOICE during the day? I realise that I start getting very full after 1 1/2 cups of oat bran, while 1 1/2 cups of brown rice or oats alone seems far easier to stomach. I'm wondering if the fact that different foods rank differently on the satiety index can be manipulated to serve certain ends.
The fact that I drink 1.5 liters of water after every meal means that I'm usually lying in bed for 10 minutes after every meal. Damn these low GI carbs for having so much fiber. I don't even know what the next high carb day will be like, but I do know that I'm not very intent on feeling like I'm about to burst open at the end of each carb meal anymore. I'm gonna stop eating when I start to get full, as opposed to trying to shovel as much down as humanly possible.
For some odd reason, the week I took off training hasn't affected my weightages in the gym at all. I actually had new PRs in the stiff-legged deadlift, the leg extension and the front squat today. Very odd.
Anyway, carb cycling is still the best diet ever. I just need to learn how to be in tune with my body and the signals it sends me. Hopefully I get much better as time goes by.
Peace.

That's what your suppose to do silly. Eat til your satisfied, not til you can't move.
Oh and yes, do start a journal.

premo, how many grams of carbs are you taking in on your carb up days?

Well I calculated everything and it came up to around 400g. My last one was in the region of 500g. I'm counting only starches and not fiber, though.
