Sweet potatos or yams?

Since most people refer to yams as sweet potatos, when you guys talk about sweet potatos are you talking about actual sweet potatos or yams? Yams being the very orange colored ones and sweet potatos being the much lighter colored... close to white potatos.

most grocery stores carry sweet potatos BUT some have yams....main difference is yams have a lower GI...BOTH a good sources of quality carbs

Sweet potatoes are little higher in the GI comparing to Yams.. I usually get yams, because they on sale
