Grapefruit whites

I tear my grapefruits appart when I eat em. I basically just eat the 'pulp' stuff and skip the white stuff. Am I missing all the nutrients?

That is what contains most of the fiber and nutrients of a grapefruit. It also has more vitamin C than the pulp itself.

How about the skin part? (not the outside)

Thats the part I'm talking about. Everything but the outer skin. Although that's the most healthiest part of any citrus but that would be pretty nasty unless its dried with sugar

K-theres the 'white' paper tasting stuff, then theres the 'clear' skin saran wrap tasting part. Which is better???

Its all the same thing really. I eat both but the white thick skin is the most nutritious.

in order of "bestestness" (i took the liberty of making up a word)

1. The fruit with as much of the white stuff as possible
2. the fruit with no white stuff
3. just the juice (which hopefully you know is not so good)

i feel like if you are eating it for the nutrients, get your moneys worth....if you are just eating it for the enjoyment of the fruit and you hate the white part dont eat it, just know that you are missing out on some of the best stuff in the fruit.

also by not including the fiber found in the white part you increase the net glycemic index on the fruit...this means that it will cause a more dramatic insulin spike leading to more cahnce for fat storage.
