Carbs with Cottage Cheese (post-PWO)

Due to my schedule, sometimes I lift in the morning and in the evening.

When I lift in the evening, I have a PWO shake of 44g of whey protein and some rice cakes. Then I have ~30g protein from cottage cheese with a Tbsp of flax seed oil a smidgen before bed.

When I lift in the morning, I try to follow the same pattern, but my question is: should I add some carbs to the cottage cheese/fat meal? Don't carbs act as the shuttling agent for the protein and give the body ready energy to repair the muscles?

( I get 8g of carbs from the cottage cheese.)

Thanks for your time!

You shouldn't be eating cottage cheese PWO. Its a VERY slow digesting protein. You need a fast absorbing protein like whey for PWO. Also, skip the fat PWO. Whey and Oats.

Hold on there Jodi. I think you skimmed my question. Please read it again. I am talking about the meal after my PWO meal, hence "post-PWO".

After my workout, I drink 44g of Whey protein plus rice cakes for carbs. No fat or fiber to slow down the digestion -- protein to muscles as quick as possible, and fast digesting carbs to provide the body energy to work its magic.

My next meal is Cottage cheese and Flax seed oil when I lift in the evening, because I am going to bed.

My question is for during the day. If I have cottage cheese and flax seed oil after a morning lifting session(1.5hr or so and after my PWO meal), should I throw in more carbs (8g from cottage cheese)?

Misread sorry

To answer your question - yes, you should add more carbs. I love adding Fiber one, cinnamin and splenda to cottage cheese

Wouldn't it be best to trade the flax seed oil for carbs? In other words, eat protein with carbs for the post-PWO meal and have the fat with protein later in the day without carbs. That way, carbs and fat are not consumed at the same meal.

yeah i would ditch the fat even in the pwo II meal and keep it with protein and complex carbs.
you definately want carbs with both your pwo and pwo II meal

Sounds good to me, Wolf. On workout days, I like to save the fat for the last meal of the day to sort of time-release the protein from that meal as far through the night as possible. If I wasn't susceptible to acid-reflux, I'd get up in the middle of the night and have protein and fat one more time. Or would protein and sex work better?

Go for the sex
