I got it pierced almost 10 years ago, and it has been a mixed bag. If you want it for female attention, it tends to work. I have found that out of every 10 girls that know you have it, 8 want to see it, 6 want to touch it, and 3-4 just want it. So the consumption part is helped out a lot.
