Here is one of those hypothetical situations that might not be so hypothetical. If your best friend’s wife or girlfriend was coming on to you and flirting on a regular basis would you have sexual relations with her?

I would have to be placed into that situation. I can’t really tell you for sure without that. But I tell you what, I rather be with my buddy girl than die. Easy to say you rather die before you sleep with your friend woman, but it’s a whole different story when you face it.

i've done it....apparently she had been with him for 3 years but wanted me the whole time. I hated her so i fucked her....she couldn't get the blunt signals i was telling her that i didn't want to be with her, so i had to be rather ornery about it. No regrets, he was a jerk.

Lately tho, i've been talking to my cousins ex a lot and thinking about trying the plunge again, but decided i probably couldn't do it to my cousin because i'd want to date this girl and it would get messy quick.

problem might become that my friends will think i'm doing this on purpose.....the first one it was completely innocuous that she wanted me. I never flirted with her and never liked her, tho i could tell she liked me. This latest one, i always had a thing for her and i think she liked me when she was with my cousin, and when i started calling her, i was gonna maybe just try for a lil action and then get out, but i started wanting to date her, so i backed off.

I do not much have experience with girls hitting on me so I really cant tell. Besides which she is so subtle about it. I have maybe 5 people in all the world that I call friend. All the rest are aquaintances. I dont get so much as a hello from women for more than ten years and now this. Huh...go figure.

Therein lies the problem. If you don't lay down the rules/boundaries BEFORE it happens, I'll bet a dollar to a dog turd you will take the low road. the friend wasn't really a good friend, at least he didn't treat me like a good friend. The girl was a bitch, plain and simple. She wouldn't take no for an answer, so she had to have it made plain to her. The other incident with my cousin's ex, i didn't go for it because i couldn't go for her for just sex and i couldn't do it to my cousin.

if it means anything, i've been abstinent since august and will be until i'm with a girl i want to have a relationship with. Meaningless sex became a waste of time; i didn't even enjoy it on a purely sexual level.

Well, I'm the one that started this thread and my intention was not really to find out about peoples libido's etc. It was really to find out about relational honor and values. If I just look at the numbers and not some of the comments I must say I am impressed with you guys. Kind of fooled me really since I expected about half here would say "do the wench and tell your buddy to get a new one". Instead, my take here is that most of you think that another pretty face and sexual gratification are insufficient reward to betray a friend. That's OK in my book.

Now I wonder what would happen if we upped the ante. What if your buddy’s woman was filthy rich and would give you all the affection in the world and buy everything you wanted as long as you stopped working and kept her satisfied.

I think that everyone knows right from wrong. We all know the correct answer. The real question is how someone would react if they where actually put into this type of situation. One person I believe stated just that. It is hard to be honest and say how you will react unless you are put in the situation. And each situation can be different. Nobody would try to steal there friends girlfriend intentionally. But I think if she was drop down georgeous and was continuously hitting on you, coupled by other circumstances, some may react differently. Add some alcohol to the equation and things could spin yet another direction.

I like everyone else here have morals, and would like to say I would never even consider coming on to a friends girlfriend. There are just to many girls out there for that.

Now what really made you ask such a question OD? Is there something going on your not telling us?

Nah, in my junior year of college I turned down for principal a woman who brought the promise of a rich and bountiful dowry and many millions more to be inherited from a rich father. We can be foolish and idealistic in our youth. Instead, I waited for the “right lady” and now have a woman who has made me wealthy by working and struggling at my side for over 10 years. I wouldn’t put that relationship at risk for anything. We are best friends, eternal partners and lovers. It’s the best of all things and in my case the ideals of youth were right on target.

I was just doing the poll thing to get some insight on what makes some of you all “tick”. My working theory was that a lot of you, contrary to the apparent ostentatious and usually exaggerated disregard for traditional morality, many of you from this poll result seem to have an overt code of behavior lurking in the inner works. Bottom line, I think that a lot of you all are really closet conservatives and just haven’t explored your true inner selves yet. Time to come out guys. You can run but you can’t hide.

Hey - I know guys that have done their buddies favors by showing them how sleezy their GF was.

Years ago I had a friend that had to go out of the country for a long time on business (4 months) and leave his GF home. He told me to keep an eye on her and to "take care" of her (in the fullest sense) till he got back. But that's a different story.

But jokingly, on the other hand I have seen some guys with some pretty homely GFs and it wouldn't surprise me that they felt positively reinforced when someone else took notice.

Very interesting story. I have a musician buddy who I've know since highschool.

In 1999 one of his Mom's friends introduced him to her 19yr old daughter. They went out several times & also had sex on more than one occasion.

But he was more attracted to her mother (his mom's friend). So he got together with her mom & he ended up living with her for almost 5yrs.

Well I had a wee bit too much vino last night when I got back in from TGIF and posted that story. Now I feel guilty since it sets the wrong example. It was also too personal so I deleted it. That all happened in a short time of my life where I just ignored my conscious because I was angry about a woman. I got all rebellious because she threw away a very promising relationship in a terrible way. She purposely did something very morally offensive to make it clear to me that her priorities where her career goals and I was second to that. So I just tossed all my values to the wind and rebelled for about 1 year of my life. That’s all behind me now.

Once it happens, then there is (or needs to be) a secret. The stress of knowing that sooner or later, he may find out. And what would be the consequences? Depends on the situation.

When I was overseas I had a buddy who was afraid for his wife "they both lived off-base" and he asked me once If I'd stay with her one night,"I was off an he was on duty". I told him "yeah I'll keep an eye on her". What are friends for right? That night she came into the front room wearing a nightgown and she had nothing on underneath. She propped her feet on a coffee table and aimed that cuz right at my eyes. She was very good looking and that was probably the closest Ive come to betraying a friend, "no I didnt fuck her".

Anyway she was a whore and he was a limpdick. Not a good combination for a successful marriage. She ended up screwing half that base but I kept my honor. Ive always lived a simple life. A life where codes are followed. Ive never catted around on my wife either. I mean you do raise your hand and make an oath when you get married.

Years ago I had a chance to do my buddy's girl behind his back and decided not to. The girl back then really wanted to badly (yeah, I didn't look this bad 12 years ago) because she told me. I told her no way in hell would I do that to my buddy. After they broke up, she tried it again (what was she, blind?) and I balked again. I consider that to be kinda' like robbing the grave after someone has died. Let the body rest in peace.

Now, this buddy, is one of my oldest and closest friends, but I waited almost a decade to tell him the story....

I find this interesting because I got to agree if they are really your buddies they won't sleep with your girlfriend/Wife, but the thing is I think men have a hard time making good personal relationships with women. So wives/girlfriends are a woman who trust you and is convienent. I know in my life my husband's buddies and my ex-husbands buddies have always hit on me at one time or another. We were friends and they trusted me and loved me in some sort of sick way. And you have got to look at them again. How is this for a crappy situation. Yesterday one of my husband's buddies came over, the last time I saw him he was drunk and trying to grope me and whispering in my ear, "It's all good" Intimidated me so bad I left my house and went to the gym for 2 hours hoping he would pass out while I was gone. I told my husband, who apparently had a "talk" with him. So here he is yesterday sitting in my house and he is still looking at me like I am an appetizer. I went and stayed in my bedroom, these are buddies? To top it off me and this guy use to go out clubbing together and stuff. He was great to talk to, and now that relationship is gone. He ruined it with hormones. So my question is have you ever hit on your buddies wives/gf? and why?

I have dated a girl that a friend dated in HS. The three of us were very good friends and discussed it like ............... gulp ............ adults. He was ok with it as was she. If either of them had said it wasn't cool, then it would have ended there. Personally, if a friend wanted to date someone I had dated, more power to ya. Just because a relationship didn't work out for me, shouldn't mean I should have some influence on who you date. I'm way to casual to have any kind of dislike for someone trying to find a workable relationship. Life's too short to worry about things I can't control.

In Lurker's case I agree with you. The guy who have to step back. I have friends who kid around as they know a bit about our relationship, but it's just that and it's always done with me around. If I found out someone was hitting on my wife while I wasn't around and meant what he was saying, we'd be having a 'conversation' for sure.
