My Diet

I went to www.fitday.com and entered in what I eat for the day. I eat the same thing everyday so it should be very consistant day to day. If I snack its usually a scoop of peanut butter. I am not going to list my whole diet yet unless ya'll request it. But here is the break down of it and let me know what you think.

Total Calories: 3410
Fat: 84g 23%
Carbs:329g 36%
Protein: 33g 41%

I am 5'11'' 260lbs 22% bodyfat. I am trying to lose bodyfat right now. I don't want to drop calories too much because I am starting my first cycle in 2-4 weeks. With a diet like this what kind of results can I expect on a 12 week cycle? I am going to be doing 45-90 minutes of cardio a day while on cycle. I am not sure how I should adjust my diet for the cycle or if this is going to work for what I want to do. If a more indepth description of my diet/cycle are needed to help let me know. I will post more info.

might want to drop carbs if cutting. but try that for now, and see how things go. if you want theres always the option of carb cycling

90 minutes of cardio seems pretty excessive...

It would be nice to see the whole diet, b/c theres not much else to say.

The 90 minutes of cardio is split up into 2 45 minute sessions once in the morning, and once at night. Here is my diet. I figured it woudl be hard to say much without seeing exactly what I eat.

Pre-Breakfast Shake: 16oz skim milk, 1tbsp flax seed oil, 1 banana, 4 ice cubes, 1tbsp ON glutamine, 1 scoop ON 100% whey, and 1 cup Total cereal. This all gets blended in a blender.

Breakfast: 1 whole egg w/ 5 egg whites, 1/2 cup pre-cooked oat meal.

Pre-Lunch: 1 chicken breast, 1/4 cup precooked brown rice, 1 cup green beans

Lunch: 1 chicken breast, 1 sweet potato

Pre-Dinner: 1 chicken breast, 1/4 cup precooked brown rice, 1 cup green beans.

Dinner: 1 chicken breast, 1 sweet potato

evening workout followed by same shake as listed for pre-breakfast except with 2 scoops of ON 100% whey. When I did my diet on fitday.com the first time I forgot the 2 bananas that go in the shakes. After adding them this is what I got.

Cals:3627
Fat: 85g 22%
Carbs: 385g 40%
Protein: 338g 39%

for the cycle to get more protein I was thinking of adding 1 scoop of I.S.S albumen protein to each meal. that would put me over the 4000 calorie mark, and around 438g protein a day. I don't know if this is worth it though.

1 scoop of my whey (2g carbs per serving) is 120 calories, if you have a Costco in your area its Pro-Rated whey, $19.95/6 pounds. Chocolate is great, vanilla is ok.

I know I could lose weight on 3400 calories and I weigh about the same as you, so I assume this is somewhat far below maintenance for you. You have help with your diet via a competing BBer right?

Well I get some help. This person helped me pick out my first show, and I hope that when I get closer to it and sees I am serious about doing the show I will get more help. Right now I get a little help here and there but I don't sit down and go thru my entire diet/workouts. I hope that when I get closer to the show this is what will happen. But as of right now I am mostly on my own.

The bodybuilder that is helping has a pro doing her diet right now for the Jr. Nationals. I am sure she knows a lot about diet/nutrition but I think a guy and girl have different needs for gear and diet. So I take what advice I can if I feel it applies to me. They just built a nice new costco near me. My neighbor is a member there, and I have a membership at Sams Club. I will have to go check out the protein there. I was thinking extra albumen throughout the day since it is used up slower by the body. But for the price you mentioned I may have to go whey for the extra shakes. Over all is my diet in order? I just want to make sure I am going to make the most of my cycle. Thanks Mudge.

Sure your diet overall is good...except for those 2 sittings of biscuits and gravy you had yesterday! hahaha

I would agree with cutting your carbs, but since you do 90 minutes of cardio per day you need those carbs. Plus, you're 260 pounds, so you need a lot of calories. Of course, if you don't see the results you want, then you should definitely try cutting your carbs.

yeah. one thing is, it all depends on your life style.

for example, I am a lazy bum, a.k.a. a college student on summer break. you might need carbs to perform at work.

Haha, I feel that. I'm also a college student on summer break. I'm looking for a job, but in the mean time power to the lazy bums!

I'm a college graduate... no more lazy bum summers for me!

Unfortunately, I've never had a lazy summer. I was always in summer school or doing some kind of research job. Blah.

what is the purpose of the cycle and what are you using ?

personally I would drop down to a least 15-16% before starting the cycle

Lam my cycle is going to be 12 weeks as follows:

1-4 30mg Romanian Naposim
1-10 300mg Deca
1-12 250mg enanthate E3D
8-12 50mg Winny ED

I am going to run arimidex .25mg-.5mg the entire cycle. PCT I have Nolva and HCG.

I hope to gain lean muscle and drop bodyfat by keeping my diet right on target. I realize size comes from eating and getting lean comes from eating less. IMO if your cycling and gaining fat then your eating too much. I am not after maximum muscle gain. I want a lean 15-25lbs and drop bodyfat by atleast 10%. Its my understanding that I can do more cardio on cycle without the threat of losing muscle on a diet that is not high in calories. I think my diet is somewhere in the middle of a cutting/gaining cycle.

Posted by: LAM

I would rethink what you really want to do, either gain LBM or lower your bf%...remember that steriods have no direct effect on lipolysis

Posted by: sentricyphen

Yeah, I would say so. You might just want to do a clean bulk if using gear. Is it your first cycle?

Posted by: TrojanMan60563

Yeah its my first cycle. I realize people believe its impossible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. I think you can't do either one of them to the extreme at the same time. I want something in the middle. Given my diet and my cycle what type of gains can I expect? I workout 4 on 1 off then repeat. I do cardio 45min before I eat breakfast, and 45min at night after weights. What needs to change? The way I understand it is the more muscle you have the more calories/fat you burn in a day. So by gaining muscle won't I be losing fat at the same time, especially with my cardio?

surely not impossible...but you are trying to gain a significant amount of LBM and lose a significant amount of bf.

just to gain 15-25 lbs of LBM you are looking at increasing your total body weight from 25-45 lbs, and by doing that you would have to increase your bf% by 2-3% minimum...and you want to lose almost 25 lbs of fat or decrease your bf% by almost 50%...

those gains are not realistic...

Posted by: TrojanMan60563

well I'll admit those gains/loses are a little out there. Realistically if I do it right I feel that gaining a solid 10-15lbs LBM, and cutting my bodyfat in half is not out of the question.

Posted by: sentricyphen

well the reason i said to do the clean bulk was so his relative bf would go down as he gained lbm, which he will most definitly do if on his first cycle, not that I am experienced, but I've seen it happen to alot of people experimenting.

Posted by: TrojanMan60563

sentricyphen I have seen friends on gear when I was in the Navy. Their diets were crap, and were not that serious in the gym. They got huge and cut at the same time. I knew some guy from africa who has a 28'' waist 6'1'' 160lbs. He was cut as hell but a twig. We were gone six months and when we came back he was 215lbs still ripped to the bone. As you said if I eat enough to gain muscle and not fat then the extra muscle in return will burn fat, and change the % of bodyfat just because I am adding more muscle.

Posted by: DeadBolt

Well I dont know much about gear and dieting with it. So I wont comment on your diet, I know I would change some things if it were me but I am ignorant in the gear section so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

As far as loosing bf% and gaining LBM at the same time, yes it can be done. I did it with drastic results.

Posted by: TrojanMan60563

I know people gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. Its harder to do, but I know its been done. From my understandings your body is capable of doing things like this easier on gear.

Posted by: TrojanMan60563

So is this diet going to be ok on cycle?
