In the old version of vbulletin it was possible to post a link to a website in words. For example if I wanted to give a link let's say for example to IronMagazineForums.com. I could transfer that link to "Link to IM" and be able to click "Link to IM" to get to the IronMagazine site. If that makes sense?
For whatever reason now it won't let me do that. When you click the Insert Link icon it only lets you post a link, and no text shortcut. How do I make the shortcut?
did you copy and paste the text? if so, that is probably why, the advanced editor works just like MS Word, so if you copy/paste text it will format it accordingly.

Well can you change #1 and #11 back to normal size please?

Here is an example of how it is done.....
[url= www,ironmagazine,com ] click here [ /url ]
Where the words click here is the text that you can modify to represent the leading link that you add.
Note: Eliminate the spaces like I used here in the example. I had to do that so it would display here. Also you use periods of course to seperate the url

Automatically parse links in text
Posted by: Randy
Please describe that in english Mudge?
What does that feature do? I've never used it myself.
I assume that Parsing links to text is exactly what I performed manually in my example. The thing is when sending a message, on the bottom there is an option titled "automatilly parse links in text". When I post a link in a message manually, whether I check or uncheck this radio button, it seems to do nothing.
If you know how this option works, please fill me in.

If you dont want the link clickable use that option, its visible when you hit POST REPLY instead of quick reply.
Bah, every time I go back to EDIT the post the option is always checked, so I can't seem to get it to do it, unless I wrap it in BOLD code or etc maybe thats not what he wanted to do anyway, I guess he meant the usual URL description code.
