as the title suggests, what is the difference between Romanian dealifts and straight leg deadlifts?
i read somewhere (possibly on this board?) that when doing romanian DL, your feet are supposed to be wider, and your grip narrower, and your legs only have a slight bend at the knee. is this the proper way of doing RDL's? if not, what exercise am i doing?

I thought the difference was that with Romanian deadlifts you are supposed to keep the bar about 6-10 inches away from your shins when you go down. With straight-legged deadlifts you are supposed to keep in contact or almost touching your shins. I just learned this recently. This is quite a big difference. Straight-legged deadlifts seem to hit my lower back a little harder than Romanian deadlifts; Romanian deadlifts seem to hit my hams and gluts a little harder.

Bend your knees more in Romanians. I've posted video clips showing proper form. Best of luck.
