Alright here goes. I'm not new to weight lifting but I havent lifted seriously in years. At least since High School Football and you know just about how much atention was paid to anything more than technique and how big are my muscles. So here I am 30 And out of shape and ovver weight and realy tired of being this way! Last week I started using my bench again for more than a box holder (NO JOKE) Discoverd to wonder of whey proteen and im feeling great. But I need to take my diet to a new level. I see all kind of posts for diets, etc. You need to ttake the proper amounts of protein, carbs, fat, etc. Create a calorie deficite! Eat 6 times a day. How do I figure this out????? i'm 30 5'8" 246lbs Is there anything out there that explains how to figure these out? IN A SIMPLE FORMAT FOR US NEWBIES. You know like neutrition for dummies. The best example I can come up with to illastrate my question is from Mens Health April 2004 The Rock!
His daily total calories for 6 meals is 3,700 Protein 270 to 280 grams Carbs 525 to 550g Fat 26 to 28g Sodium about 2,300 milligrams
Ok this sounds great But I aint 6'4". so Ho does some one like me figure out what I shoud be eating and how to break it down in simple iddiots terms???? Thanks John100

Thanks for the Link those are realy good articls, and it looks like I Have a lot of reading to do. But I gues what I am realy concerned about was the rigidlity of sticking to these diets? How do you learn to mix up the proteins carbs fats etc. so that the diet dose not get boring? I have dieted for years and I always seem to fall of because I get bored by the restrictive nature of the diet! So I'm trying to learn how to acomplich a high protein diet and how to go about doing it. So I will continue with the advice and continue reading to get to where I want but dose anyone have any sugestions for me a bout mixing up thes types of diets.

in the stickys you will find lots of suggestions on what foods to eat and what foods to avoid. if you are not a picky eater then getting bored with your food shouldnt be a problem. as far as sticking to the diet and not "falling" as you said, that will be determined by how bad you want to achieve your goal. it takes discipline but the results will show in no time.
