I am 3 weeks out from Figure Competition. I am getting a bit frustrated and discouraged. The diet is killing me. I do well for a few days, then I cheat or break my will power and the cycle continues. Can somebody please tell me how to get through these last few weeks? When the urge to cheat on my diet is so strong I need somthing to distract me! I seriously need to drop a few body fat %'s and this cheating is not allowing it to happen!!!

I am one day away from my competition. Honestly the thing that maybe me get through 16 weeks of dieting without any cheating was knowing that if I cheated it would make my goal and the evening of competition day (when I get to cheat) bitter sweet. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the big pay off of eating pizza and cheesecake at the end if I ate it somewhere along the way.

Hang in there. You know what you have to do. Throw away the stuff in your house that you are tempted by. Stay focused.

GymGirl...what is it that you are cheating with or wanting to cheat with? Three weeks is a short time! No reason to throw in the towel right now. Which show will you be doing?

just think of how ripped u will be at the comp, blowing the competition away..and then u can eat all the good food afterwards...

Try adding some flax to your diet. Take the liquid kind. That will curb your appetite. Also, you need to be eating a lot of fibrous carbs to calm the sweet tooth down too. Take in as many servings as needed of broccoli and a week out, switch to asparagus to help lean you out even more. Sounds like you are not eating enough or often enough that is why you are having this problem. Eat 6 meals a day and eat every two hours if you have to. You are better off eating more often and keeping your metabolism going than waiting and freaking out. If I miss a meal by even 30 minutes my mind is wandering onto visions of pizza and crap. Just eat and don't think about what you are in the mood for.

Good luck,
Nancy

Gymgirl.....it's OK. If it wasn't hard work to be disciplined, and to not eat CRAP, then everyone could do it. Do you know how many friends I have that couldn't go even 3 DAYS??? You are in the home stretch, you can do it, its mind over matter. I know that if I allow myself even 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes, the next day I can SEE it in the mirror!!! Don't do it...step AWAY from the junk..hee hee... Good luck, we all have faith in you and are rooting for ya!

Honestly at three weeks out it's sheer grit and determination that will see you through, you've come this far why blow it now, it's three weeks, it's nothing.
Think about the girls you are competing against who will stick to their diet... do you really want them to have the edge on you just because you couldn't hold out for three more weeks.
I know it's tough, sometimes it's tougher than other, low carbs mess with your head too and at three weeks out it's normal to go through some serious self-doubt, suck it up, ride it out you will be so proud of yourself when it's over.
Believe in your ability to achieve and just do it!
Good luck!!!
Oh and trust me... in three weeks you can eat whatever your little heart desires and it will taste so much better then than now!
