i did not really know where to submit this. anyway i have noticed that when i chew a strong mint gum i get hungry more often. what casues that. i mean i am usually oog till the next meal. but when i chew this like an hour later i am ready to eat. whats up with this.

Who knows... Usually chewing gum helps me make it too my next meal. Might just be you. Or maybe someone has some break through info on mint gum.

I think it’s just gum in general, from what I heard your body thinks is getting food when your chewing gum and well after some time you will go hungry cuz you really didn’t get anything. I haven’t seen any research on this, just something I heard before.

For what I understand sugar can make you hungry. If the gum you chew is not sugarless, it is very possible that the sugar is the one that makes you hungry....

If you are chewing sugar-free gum, then I have absolutely no clue...

i chew trident white(peppermint) - it has no sugar, 2 carbs and 2 sugar alcohols which cancel out the carbs - 5 cals.

Uhhhh, here's a bizarre twist for you. I was in school TODAY and had the same experience. However my mint fixation is Altoids. I was not hungry in the slightest, sucked on an Altoid and instantly my stomach rumbled. I leaned over and asked a fellow student if mint triggered hunger. How strange!!!

I would agree with the sugar claim, personaly I like Orbitz bubble-mint, taste like minty bubble gum. The best of both worlds. It's sugar- free contains maltitol, but has never made me hungry, and has actually killed some hunger cravings from time to time.

Possibly something in the mint that stimulates stomach acids. It used to happen to me as well. Only with mint gum.

Yeah It Is Just Astonishing To Me That This Happens. I Guess To All You People Having Trouble Eating 6 Meals - I Recommend 1-2 Pieces Of Trident White Between Meals - Lol.

Peppermint helps digestion

Posted by: BritChick

Chewing gum is supposed to aid digestion, I have heard that it also stimulates the gastric juices. The saliva that is produced while chewing goes down to the stomach, thus fooling the stomach into thinking there is food to be digested. If this is the case it makes sense to me that this could make you hungrier... especially if you have a 'smart' tummy that's not easily duped!

My own experience, just minty flavor gum makes me hungry..
