breaking up work outs

is there any difference in if i work out legs on friday and arms on saturday than working them both on saturday because sometimes i miss work outs because im in school and i have to do homework is it just a time issue with most people doing one part at a time or is there a real reason?

You should split them up. Working out too many muscles at once means your body has a lot of recovering to do. In fact, I do my different leg and arm muscles on different days.
