Because you don't want to waste your precious glycogen on cardio especially for those cutting. If you do cardio before lifting weights you are burning your glycogen. So then you go do weight training and your glycogen is depleated and now you can't lift as intense as you could if you had more glycogen stored.

Chill!

This is a forum where people ask questions and if we can help them we do. If we can point them in the right direction to help them, then we do that too.

I personally do it before, but my goals are for performance and being explosively quick is more important than lifting heavy weights. When I switch to explosive lifts I will either separate them by 8-10 hours or do them on separate days, still haven't figured that one out.

You wouldn't be if you trained your energy systems properly.

lifting is 10x more beneficial to the body than running...make it a priority

I know I am no person to tell you that you are wrong but I used to run in high school and I always thought running would be healthier for your body as opposed to lifting because of cardiovascular reasons? Not to say that lifting doesn't help with that too but it just doesn't do as much as running does since you are not doing it for extended periods of time constantly without rest?

That said, I am starting to get serious about lifting and am trying to bulk now

The purpose of the cardiovascular system is to support the musculature. Running (at a pace you can do for a long time) is a steady state activity that primarily uses the bodies aerobic pathways to fuel the muscles. It does not build muscle. Doing it continually won't do much but make you better at endurance activity.

Weight training will add lean body mass, which is active tissue, while fat is sedentary. This will generally raise your basal metabolic rate (a pound of muscle could improve your daily BMR by as much as 80 calories a day). After an intense anaerobic workout, your bodies resting metabolic rate will be raised, as well.

Just because you are jogging for a longer period of time doesn't make it a better activity.
