punk ass belly

hello again
I'm trying to bulk up and I need some advice.
First of all, I'm 5'7 and 150 lbs. (yup, skinny fat guy)
The problem is, before even starting, I had a belly.
Now, I haven't gained much weight, maybe 1 lb in 2 weeks, but it seems it all went to the belly. WTF??
I didn't even ate that much fat or carbohydrates.
So I'm asking, is there a way to lose the fat while gaining muscular weight?
Or at least, stopping my body from gaining fat?

Should I stop the bulking and try to lose the fat first, then bulk up?

I'm worried, I don't want to become a fatso!!!

the gut will be the last place your body lets go of the fat. people may disagree with me here but i say lower your bf first then bulk. otherwise you will have a lot more fat to get off after the bulk.

if it is so obvious that you are gaing body fat then you either have to lower your calories and/or change the types and amounts of the foods that you are eating...

My tummy is where all my body fat goes first and leaves last. I am in the process of gaining size and stopped all cardio but weight training is more intense and I'm still losing body fat because of that. What exactly are you eating and when? You are usually going to retain a decent amount of body fat during any bulk cycle. That's the trade off. That's why you bulk in the non-beach seasons.

the thing is, I don't see fat anywhere else on my body, except the belly!!
today's menu:
4 eggs for breakfast with bread and vegetables + fish in the morning
then at lunch I will eat a sandwich with fruits
souper I will eat spaghetti x 2 + fruits
end up with milk + cookies

would it be okay if I do cardio 1-2 times per week?
also, the bulking up should take how many months?

I will say it before everyone else does, if you want to lose the gut you need to change your diet.

please take the time and read the stickies , theres soooo much info on diet/cardio, theres plenty of peeps here to help, but there are alot of guidlines to follow in the stickies.
post full days menu with everything measured out, cups/oz's/grams.
if you need more help in that area go to ww.fitday.com, that will help track your food s alittle better.

bread, pasta, fruit, milk, and cookies on a cut?

damn if cutting were that simple .....

First off, not always what your eating but what brands. All bread and pasta are not created equal. I think you are confusing your goals. When you bulk, most likely you will retain bodyfat. You have to get rid of any ideas that you will be as gorgeous as Tank in a month.

If you are bulking, don't just "eat alot" of anything. "Eat alot" of what we call "clean food". Forget the refined sugars in the cookies. What are you putting on top of your pasta? Fruit always worked against me so I supplement it instead. You should just up lean proteins... chicken breast/turkey/fish. Also, carbs are good but the right kind. Yams are the quickest to make and you will acquire a taste for them fast. Fish can be a trickey food. If cooked the wrong way you will take a great food and turn it into a bad one. How are you preparing your food? Same with chicken. Are you boiling it or deep frying it all? Not being funny, it just all factors in.

LOL. Theres your problem right there.

You need some protein in there. All I see for protein is the eggs in the morning and (maybe) the sandwich midday. Get yourself 200g of protein a day, 200 g of carbs, and some good fats. Run that for a couple weeks and then tell us how the belly is gone.

you have more fat on your body than you think if you have a decent sized gut...

allright people, thanks for the advice

5'7'' 150 is a skinny fat guy?????

im 5'7'' 148 and i have a 29 waist and 38 chest. im still a 'work in progress' but i would never consider that fat. what are ur total measurements? set some goals on where you want to be. if you put on a few inch on ur waist but expand your chest, shoulder width, and arms, thats a successful bulk.

we are talking about bf here ... weight is irrelevant. someone could be 250 lbs. ripped and another person could be 250 lbs. with 30% bf.

right, fat builds behind the abdominal wall, it's not subcutaneous, plus there is intramuscular fat that you cannot see, like a marbled steak.

Muscle and Fitness had a pretty interesting article in the current magazine. It mentioened what you are trying to do, and its by a guy I know oand trust (Chris Aceto). Read it may do wonders for you. its called "Your 8000 Calorie Growth Plan". Try it Dont let the title fool you-that caloric requirment is for a 220lb bodybuilder.

Psst... if you're trying to lose some weight, you probably shouldn't be having cookies and milk. Especially before bed.

this is not a response to your question but a question of my own. First, I keep sending messages to webmaster@ironmanmagazineforums.com and they keep being returned. What should I do to send in a question?
