Facts on bodybuilding HELP

(CLICK HERE here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am trying to put together a list with the facts on bodybuilding that we agree with, those undeniable facts that are true to the most of "us". It may serve as a sticky for newbies or for everybody, since we may forget about a simple thing once in a while.
I posted on training because it is the most busy forum. I would post in the Open Chat but it seems that when everybody goes there, the brain just shuts off.
Post about everything, training, diet, supplements, anabolics, doesnīt matter. If this thread becomes big, donīt waste your time looking if your tip was already posted, post it anyway. Post with a little explanation about each subject as well. Keep it simple though.

Eventually I will organize all the tips in another thread. I hope it works

Fact number 1: Bodybuilders are too lazy to write anything.

Posted by: redspy

Reminds me of the old adage about getting enough rest and recuperation:-

Never run when you can walk. Never walk when you can stand still. Never stand when you can sit. And never sit down when you can lie down.

Posted by: Yanick

or you can run around and just eat more

Posted by: Vieope

Please donīt make me write the fact number 2. People will cry, I am telling you.

Posted by: Yanick

okay how about every program should be centered around these types of exercises:

Squats
Deads
Stiff Legged Deads
Rows
Pull Ups
Benchpress
Overhead Press

Posted by: Vieope

Great. Keep it coming.

How about some calf exercises?

Posted by: Yanick

thats why i said centered around...not should consist of. Obviously bb'ers will be doing many more exercises other than those. The ones i listed should always be used no matter what (barring injuries and such).

Muscles can not be trained to be tone.

Posted by: Vieope

Very good. I was about to say: "$#%@ the newbies".
Anyone else? It is just starting.

Posted by: PreMier

You cannot shape a muscle.

Posted by: bulletproof1

in order to get optimal results from supplements, your diet and exercise must be in line.

Posted by: bulletproof1

for newbies ... no, creatine will not kill you so dont even ask.

Posted by: Vieope

Water is important. Drink at least 3 liters.

Posted by: SPIKE1257

#1 Cross at the green, not in-between. #2 Guys when lacing shoes, it's left over right.

Posted by: Vieope

Donīt compare how much you lift with others.

Posted by: bulletproof1

avoid trying to build muscle and lose fat at same time. it usually leaves you going no where.

Damn .. I had to learn that in the hard way.

Posted by: bulletproof1

i think devoting a lot of facts about creatine would be beneficial since many of the questions here pertain to that subject. unfortunately, i think opinions vary here about some things ... i.e. the cycling of creatine.

Posted by: PreMier

No need to cycle creatine!

Posted by: Vieope

Yes, no need to cycle or load it. Donīt overdo it as well. Like 20 g, not because it is dangerous but because it is a waste of money.

Vitamins & minerals and fish oil are essential.

Fish oil is superior to Flax. I suggest reading the guide to cutting/bulking/maintenance.

Posted by: soxmuscle

Fuck. I just bought a new thing of Flax Seed Oil caplets. I might just buy the Fish Oil anyways.

Posted by: Vieope

High repetion for definition, that just doesnīt exist.

Posted by: Vieope

Donīt do cardio when bulking for fat reducing.

why not?

btw, do you mean to lose fat while bulking or to minimize gain of fat. If its the former i retract my statement.

Posted by: soxmuscle

Not a fact, but I personally like it when kids wear just a normal t-shirt and athletic shorts as opposed to the tight/short shorts and sleeveless or tank top.

Posted by: bulletproof1

maybe post a good link on hitt for users to read.

Lose fat. Minimize it will but it is better to do this "minimizing" through a proper bulking. Agreed?

I will ask Mudge, there is a thread here that is very good on HIIT. I donīt know where it is. I guess it was in his signature.

That is a very good tip.

Posted by: Yanick

diet and cardio both do their own part in minimizing fat gain. I would personally rather jump on a bike for 20-30 min 2x/week and have my bulk be a little more lax, than have to swallow down dry chicken breasts and such all the time.

I used to think i was the shit and i would wear tanks and all that other shit to the gym, using the stupid excuse "i like to see my muscles working." However when i worked with p-funk i had my ass handed to me by him and a couple of other guys, which humbled me a lot and put me on the right track. I actually enjoy lifting in big baggy clothes now, i dunno why but it feels better.

New fact: Cardio can be used to minimize fat gain but be sure to have a proper diet since it is the most important thing.

How about now?

I like cardio. I can get high with cardio. It is true.

Posted by: Vieope

Worry about proper form then you can worry about how much you lift.

Click the link in my signature and read the only thread in the hypertrophy science forum about the hypertrophy formula.
