2 hrs? im cutting...i find myself only in there pumping iron for 1 hr.

Posted by: shutupntra1n

1-1.5 hours... Depends how busy... Anything too far below an hour I know I was cutting corners somewhere.

Posted by: sportTchick

around 1.5 - 2 hours most of the time... depending on my goal/energy level on the given day

Posted by: CowPimp

During power and rep range week it takes me about 75 minutes with stretching and warmups included. During shock week it takes me about 60 minutes with stretching and warmups included.

Posted by: redspy

60-70 minutes max. Anything more and my intensity level drops.

Posted by: shutupntra1n

Red... I like your avi

Do you do HIT style training perhaps?

Posted by: Duncans Donuts

Yeah, geared more towards Yates style, with a few warmups followed by a single working set (although not on all exercises).

Posted by: joey2005

how long of rests do you guys take?

Posted by: Duncans Donuts

Depending on what is being trained. I typically do between 3-5 working sets with a 3 day split. I take about 3 minutes of rest between sets when I work smaller muscles, 4-5 minutes for larger muscles.

Posted by: GoalGetter

30-ish minutes for weights, 30 minutes for cardio, some time in between for abs, so maybe about 1.5 hours.

Posted by: soxmuscle

I work out for 3-3.5 hours..

*hides*

Posted by: Robert

one hour max.

Posted by: LAM

45 minutes of weights plus 15 minutes of light cardio for a warm-up and warm-down so 1.25 hours total...

Posted by: soxmuscle

How on earth do you guys finish your workouts so damn fast?

Posted by: Premiere

45 mins max

Besides checking out the tube if the Red Sox are on, I don't fuck around either.

I might have to do some PM'ing tonight to get my routine checked..

yeah definitely, i mean i could see going over an hour (not for me, but others doing it) but 3-3.5 hrs? how do you keep your intensity up and not overtrain? are you taking big breaks in between sets or are you just performing alot of exercises and sets.

I take the 1-3 minute break in between sets, but I also am performing alot of sets and excercises.

Posted by: cmason2004

I'm right in there at 50minutes to an hour. no more than a minute between sets usually, unless I'm going really heavy, and a few minutes between exercises.

Posted by: soxmuscle

When I first started, working out intensely for an hour wasn't enough for me, so I tacked on more and more excercises and thus sets which is why it takes so long.

I would like to shorten it up though.

30-60 minutes(i do cardio on seperate days), my training session is like a sprint, with maximum intensity, not a marathon. i just do my work in the gym and then leave, no talking, no walking around. IMO anything more than 1.5 hours is not ideal. after 1.5 hours your mental focus would decline rapidly, testosterone level would drop, concentration level would drop, anabolic activity would decrease. if you can still train after 2 hours, then your intensity level = way too low.
my session lasts 1.5 hours only when i use shocking principle(every 8-10 weeks), i.e. 20+ sets per bodypart.

Posted by: gr81

45-60 mins of training time

Posted by: Major_Phase

Hour the most, no longer...

Posted by: joey2005

yeah i get the time part lol..what about breaks in between sets..and breaks in between exercises?

depends on how i feel on that particular day. i rest anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. generally speaking, if your intensity is very high and you use low reps, or if your goal is pure strength, then you should rest longer.

Posted by: busyLivin

45 mins...hour max. Quality, not quantity.

Posted by: Robert

if you cannot finish your training in one hour I suggest that you re-evaluate the number of sets and exercises you're doing, as well as the amount of rest time in between sets.

Im always out in less than an hour.

Unless, of course, Im on anabolics and I use a little more volume. Then, its about an hour 15.

I dont go to the gym to talk. Im thre to lift. End of story. It bugs the hell outta me when guy tries talking to me about any and everything while Im at the gym. I blow them off nicely, but it always slows me down, and they spend more than half their gym time just talking.....

Sorry, just bothers me.

Posted by: Premiere

3-3.5 hrs of training is a bit much ... like i said mine usually last about 45 mins ... maybe an hour depending on what day ... when it's back day ... i'm only in there for about 30 mins ... but yea that 3-3.5 shit is too much IMO, if i trained that long i would be VERY late for school (or never get my hw or studying done depending on what part of the day i train)

Posted by: sabre81

40 min. I try to talk to no one. There are a few yappers in my gym.

those yappers will definetly fuck a quick training session in the gym. I wear my headphones even when the batteries run out just so nobody talks to me...

Posted by: Tha Don

2ndSession: Triceps: PM
1stEx: E-Z-BarHeadBangers:
2ndEx: Dumbell-OverHeadBackScratchers:

lower:45-50mins
breaks between sets:1 or 2 mins

I dont yap with anyone in the gym.. and come to think of it, no one bothers to yap with me and i dont wear headphones either. I guess i dont look like the conversational type.

Yeah I want to get one too, but I need a new computer before I get one of those. I originally wanted a laptop. I'm sure that the apple laptop would be compatible with the ipod,
