Hope the weather holds up!!

F the weather, and F the yankees.

this is a HUGE series.

Got a prediction, Flex? I say the Sox take 2 of 3. Bronson Arroyo is awesome on the road, Derek Lowe is pitching better than he ever has on the Sox, and, well, Pedro is Pedro. I would say the Sox sweep, but I'll give the Yanks the benefit of the doubt that they will take a game.

You're dead on with all our pitchers going this weekend. The only one i'm concerned about is Lowe. Sure he's pitched well the last few games, but we all know that when his sinker isn't sinking, its batting practice for most mlb teams, and its homerun derby for hte yankees....

Prediction? hmmmm. well, you know i'm hoping: sweep
but i'll settle for 2/3.

we do have the evil empire next weekend, so 5 of 6 would be INSANE!

My prediction - 3 rained out games. Damn you, Ivan.

Sure the man's a prick, but that's still no reason to curse him out like that.

Tonight looks like a definite rainout, but the weather is supposed to clear up tomorrow afternoon. I'm guessing a rainout today and a doubleheader Sunday.

I can't believe i fell asleep right before the top of the ninth!

I was in and out of sleep cuz i'm so behind in sleep, and i wake up and hear the Rem dogg wrapping up "And the Sox take GAme 1 3-2".

WHAT a catch by Manny, huh?

1 down, 2.5 to go, bitches......

Although I am a Yankee fan I get the feeling this is going to be the year Boston finally beat the Yankees. Damn I can't believe Airhead Manny caught that ball, he's a great hitter but his fielding has a lot to be desired.

To your first part....damn i hope so.

And to your 2nd, this year he's proving he's not as bad a fielder/everything but hitter as everyone thinks. He's the 2nd best hitter in baseball, and coming into this year, my boy (huge sox fan) still didnt really care for him b/c of his fielding/attitude.

But throughout the year he has hustled (most of the time) and made SO MANY great catches. You can't get mad at his "have fun" attitude. Sure, the fans want players to be all-business. But who are we to decide how they should act?? If we had millions of $$ and played sports for a living, most of us wouldn't give a fuck what fans thought, and we'd have fun playihng sports as our job. especially when you come from a poor background...

Anyways, It seemed like every other game Manny would make a great catch, and my buddy was slowly changing his mind. When i talked to him this morning, he finally said, "Holy shit, i love Manny". He's made so many good catches this year that we were both half-serious when we said he should be nominated for a gold glove......

and btw, that catch was amazing. granted if it were yankee fans right there in the stands they'd have reached out and it would've been a homer.

But holy shit, Manny, is there anything you can't do.

Damn...Lowe's line: 1 IP, 7 R, 6 ER 4 H 3 W

Didn't see it, but that's bufugly.

Posted by: Flex

bro, let me tell you, it WAS ugly.

i was talking to my boy this morning before the game (same guy as before), and we were raving bout the Sox win last night. He says he's all confident in DLowe, but i knew he's still shaky. You're lucky if you get 2/4 good starts outta him this year.....

oh well, we got Petey goin' tommorow. hopefully we can take 1 game away from this weekend.....

Flex said it best when he said you could expect an excellent game from Arroyo, but not from Lowe. Nonetheless, if you told me we could be in this situation, a week ago, with Pedro on the mound tommorow, I'd take it.

Pedro didn't have it today, don't keep your heads down Red Sox Nation, we'll see you next week.

Posted by: solid10

I'm sure they will play better, and if they don't it's just a game.

Posted by: Yanks20

yeah, they sure looked like the team that has average over 7 runs a game for the last 10 games (oh yeah i forgot, they only scored a total of 8 runs in all three games) that compared to the yanks scoring 27!

friday's game had so much tension, damm was awesome to see! saturday was a little worried about the effects of the night before, but they proved it was just a fluke and pounded Lowe. The best part of the weekend had to be the Pedro chants as he got his ass handed to him again, this time in the firth instead of the eighth

The Sox did a bunch of talking but all the Yanks did was open a can:

You'd think with their team's loooooong history of fuck ups, Sox fans would think twice before making any bold predictions and take it one game at a time.
