I have a total of 2 cups a day..thats 1 in the morning and 1 for post workout shake. This too much for high carb day? thats 140g of carbs right there i think. Thats about all the carbs i have..well gotta add veggies ....is this too much oatmeal for a 200lb person cutting?

Posted by: bulletproof1

man look, figure up your macros and divide by how many meals you eat. it aint hard.

Posted by: joey2005

I did. Still doesnt tell me if its too many carbs for one sitting you know what i mean man? 60g per 1 cup oatmeal..thats not alot?

Posted by: bulletproof1

well have you figured up your bmr. do you know how many calories you burn a day through exercise? how drastic you cut depends on you. if you're carb sensitive back off on the carbs. space your meals out evenly. dont eat 700 calories at 1 meal and 200 at another.

p.s. go buy a book.

This is a jack ass type answer but what I really wanted to say is:
"NEVER TOO MUCH" jk

Posted by: joey2005

how do you figure your BMR? I kill it during exercise as hard as I can both weights and cardio..take both serious.

What sort of cut are you doing?

Can you please list out your entire meal plan and macros so we can better adjust how much you should be eating each sitting?

What are your stats? 200lbs?

Ok so far your having 2.5 cups of oatmeal correct? This is all you have all day? Thats actually pretty low, most would aim at 1 carb per lb of body weight. Unless you are getting into some serious cutting or you are cycling carbs with refeeds every so many days.

Why just oats? They do make other simple carbs ya know.

What type of cuttin plan are you on, or is it simply just a basic reduction of cals?

Whats the deal with so much whey, why not some more real foods?

Posted by: joey2005

thats a low carb day. I have a day with no carbs..I cycle 3 days high/low/none. And My goals are a 6pack within the next year (Crosses fingers). I do HIIT cardio (currently fixed to only 15 min) mon/wedns/fri (sat and sun I kick box). I lift heavy mon-fri and have been trying my best with diet..having 5 meals a day..lots of protein ..almost 2 gallons of water. So i guess you can say its a real determined dedicated CUT CUT diet.

And all the whey is keep calories down...
2 scoops = 200 calories
0 carbs
50g protein

Oh so your carb cycling TP style, yes I've done it before.

Have you ever read the article on it? It pretty much explains everything, stating:
You can have as much meat as you like just as long as you have equality throughout your meals and you have all your carbs. You should be having 1g or so of carbs per lb of body weight on low carb days as well as a small piece of fruit with each carb meal. Make sure you read this article before posting anything else to make sure you understand the entire concept of TP's carb cycling plan

http://magazine.mindandmuscle.net/ma...159&issueID=15

It is pretty much self explanitory, but to answer your original question on if 2.5 cups of oatmeal is to much, no it is not and it may even be a little to low.

Please read that article i posted for you b/c it explains EVERYTHING you need to know then come back with any further questions.

thanks for the link man! Really answered lots of questions and concerns. I do as usualy have a few more lol. I really have this mind set thing ..i do cardio alot..HIIT cardio..about 5 times a week never more than once a day on cardio days. This obviously has nothing to do with fat loss..but i sit down about 55% of the day..so i just think its good if i do a little extra cardio. And BTW how did it work for you?

Posted by: DeadBolt

It did very well for me, it is very difficult for me to lose fat but while doing so I gained very much strength and noticed my body changing for the better. Check out my pictures and you will see the minor changes I went through. Come next cut I'm sure I will have better results b/c I had some setback last time. I can't wait for it.

As for HIIT 5 days a week?!?!?!?!? Thats alot my man, you may want to cut back on that and focus on the diet. Cardio is really a last resort to weight loss and at 5 times a week you may do more harm then anything. I'd recomend no more then 2-3 times a week. Let the diet work its magic and you will be fine, you wont lose all the fat overnight but in no time you will notice results and I've found carb cycling is the best way to retain as much LBM while losing BF, for me anyways.

And for you bulletproof1, maybe you should stay quiet when you don't know what to do or get a book on how to help people. If you don't know what to say keep quiet and let people who do chime in, no need to bash people for being confused, thats what we are here for helping not making other peoples lives miserable and making them not want to do things. He had a simple question that took a few simple answers and guidence, no need to jump down his throat man.

first of all dont jump at me dude. if i do not know the answer to someones question i dont try to answer. i have answered joeys same questions time and time again and yet he keeps asking them over and over. i love helping people, but its nice to see people help themselves once in a while. i have read many books and gained a lot from them which is why i have suggested several times that he needs to do the same. he needs to learn the basics. before you come at me from now on how bout you get the whole picture first.

But instead of general stating read a book you could have pointed him in a direction in finding some good ones or supplied him with some information. Instead of butting heads back and forth all it took was one reading for him to undrerstand what to do......instead of telling him to go read I supplied a small piece of information and now if he desires more he knows where to search or what to srearch under.

I apologize if it sounded like I was jumpin on ya, didn't mean for it to be that way. I haven't been around for several weeks so I had no idea he had been asking so much. All is well now, he has his book and is now informing himself on the subject...sorry I couldn't have been here sooner to help.
