Okay so im a small 18 year old 5'5 kid who weighs 180. I dont have a big belly, but i dont have big muscles either. I was just looking thru vitacost.com and saw something called MASS FUEL by Twinlab...but my question is, do weight gainers make u GAIN fat or muscle? I workout 4-5 days a week, so im guessing if u workout a lot and hard, itll pack on the muscle? If not, itll pack on fat??? Or are weight gainers for skinny people??? Yeah someone please explain to me weight gainers, and if anyone has tried MASS FUEL by Twinlab, u can explain that too...thanks.

If you consume more calories than you expend you will gain fat. Most people do not need a "weight gainer", getting a protein powder is a better choice. Weight gain powders are basically meal replacement powders but higher in calories usually in the form of carbs/sugar. They're best suited for someone that has a hard time gaining weight no matter how much they eat, i.e. an "ectomorph" body type.
At 18 you should focus on a solid diet, try and eat 6 times per day, quality, clean food, if necessary use an MRP (meal replacement powder) to meet the 6 mix meals. Try and consume a minimum of 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, so for you 30 grams of protein per meal if you eat 6 times per day. To meet the protein requirements a protein powder works great, i.e. I have a protein shake with my cereal every morning, and a protein shake immediately after my work-out.
