Weight gain % before Cutting?

To you that bulk and cut......repeat if necessary. Do you shoot for a certain percentage of gain and then cut, or do you just bulk as long a you're making quality gains, then cut in front of a show??

Just wondering if it's a stair step progression, or grow until you plateau, followed by a repeat of the same procedure.

ive learned the hard way,i lost 40-50lbs my 1st show,it was 3 mths after a powermeet.the 2nd show i lost 30 the3rd 18 the 4th 15 the 5th 10.its easier to loose a little then alot.but in turn its a science and hard work staying with in 10 -15 lbs range before a show.i guess i can say that i take more pride in myself staying that close if anything

When I "bulk up" I do not let myself go beyond a certain bodyfat %. My limit high is 12%. It is at this time that my abs will begin to disappear, and I never allow this to happen. However, I have been training for many years. When I was younger I would simply bulk all winter to maximum capacity and then cut back in the spring months. Because I need to prepare for competitions now, I cannot afford to ever get too far out of shape. When I'm at 12% BF I feel FAT!
