I used to squat up to 185 doing 10 to 12 reps. I began having some slight back problems (which I had previously as a teen with slight Scolosis).I no longer do squats and now do A LOT of leg sled/leg press/ and curls and les extensions. It was my thought that squats gave me more a a boxy look (wide waist, thicker hips) and now I have more rounded glutes. Does anyone have any comments on this? ![]() |

I use to squat heavy too and hit over 200lbs when I did have some issues with my hips rolling. I no longer throw that much weight up there but I keep it reasonable at 135lbs. This way I can concentrate much more on form and slower squats. Granted I do approx. 15+ reps but I have noticed an improvement in my lower body overall.
I'd suggest just lowering the weight, go really low (ass to grass) and concentrate on overall lower body improvement. JMHO. |

. I used to squat and it caused me to be boxy, I see you like to squat and that is great for you, but my glutes are rounded without them.
