when I need to eat and am not hungry I'll make a shake with whey, whole oats and natty pb. the natty pb will slow gastic emptying and the fiber in the oats helps to modulate the amino acids or slow the actually release of amino acids into the portal bloodstream...
makes for a slower sustained release of AA's into the bloodstream vs just whey & water...

Post workout, water is the best choice. Sometimes if I need a quick snack I will mix it with milk. However, I started buying egg protein powder to use as an additional supplement when I need protein that is broken down and released into the bloodstream at a more gradual pace.

you may want to consider getting other flavors of whey, i.e. vanilla, I find that with chocolate you're kind of limited.

egg white protein is metabolized only slightly slower than whey protein fractions. for a true sustained release of AA's you really need to use a blend whey with around 40% casein...
