hey guys, im new to the board, and i had a question about protein. ive checked out a couple of the diets on here, and it talks about throwing in like 2-3 scoops of protein a couple times a day, but i had heard that taking too much of a protein powder can cancel out the effects? or it wont work as well or something like that. is this for specific protein powders or what? thanks for any help i can get.

ok, i just read that bicep post on the top too. now he was talking about working them only once a week, so does that mean that i should do them with back so im not working them more than once, or can i do bise seperately since they are only a secondary muscle?

thanks again.

hI Idlehands, No taking to much of a certian Protien Powder will not directly cancel out the effects. However I belive there is a certian limit of protien the body can absorb in one sitting (meal). Iam not to sure of the actual number this would depend on your own weight height and activity level (however try not to go over 60 grams in one sitting). Ussally if you go above your digestive system will not digest it proparly and it will get turned to fat (the amount that does not get digeted at least). Also if you take in to much casien (the main protien found in milk and most dairy products) it is a slow digesting protien and will severly slow the digestion of anything you consume at the same time (this is why it is such a good protien for before bed time and not for PWO shake)
You can directly work your biceps once a week if you wish or give them a couple of direct sets straight after back.
