I have had this stomach problem for some time (5months) since I caught gastrointritis from my girlfriends family, they all got a bug for 24 hours but all got better but it seemed to have started something different, the symthoms comes and go but all the time my stools arnt normal but vary from sevre dirarrea, 20 times a day on a bad day to 2 times a day on a better one. (lol maybe i am giving out to much info) It starts like this:

Normally in the night 11pm or wake up like 4 am with this severe bloatedness and a really strange smell in my breath (berping) then vomiting (consitant) which is like clear liquid nasty stuff, and bad diarrea (very light brown and lose, no blood) also serve stomach pains in upper and middle stomach.

This has been going on for months now and doctors are usless, i have had 3 stool tests, hepititus test, throid, liver, coliac diease test, ultrasound and now awaiting a upper and lower examiation of the bowl.

I have lost about 15lbs of LBM and feel really depressed as I cant go to work because of the fact i keep getting so ill (with the pain and sickness i find it so hard to move) from time to time. But like i said i am not completly well at any time as its varies from annoying to extreme, but i am having lots of wind and bloating always after eating food.

Just is there any one that knows what it could be or had anything similar after having a stomach bug or whatever.

cheers

Is Gastrointritis contagious? Oh my, I never knew that. Hmmm I wouldn't mind giving that to my supervisor.

You should pm "hardasnails1973". He's quite helpful. He should be able to,at the very least, point you in the right direction.

Some people develop lactose intolerance in the wake of an infectious gastroenteritis and should be treated as such. Here is some basic, simple information and it talks about how it can be associated with gastroenteritis and some of the symptoms . (By the way you have many of the symptoms )

I did suspect this, i had gastroenterits when i was 14 and afterwards i had exsatly the same symthoms as i have now, but that lasted for 4 weeks with intermitent spells but this has lasted over 5 months. I used to drink 4 pints of milk with cheese sandwiches and yoguts every day before hand. I will ask my doctor for a lactose allergy test today though.

Also is it possible that viral gastronenteritis does not appear in stool test and could somehow my body dosnt produce the right antibodies for this bug as when i was a baby my mother told me i was very very ill with it for much longer then was expected.

Thanks

not only do you need to look at physiological aspects of things but also the emotoinals sides.

ask your self these questions

At the time this started where you under stress (emotional, physiological - over training, under eating, over eating, environmental, ect)
Where you taking alot of stimulants of any kind such as ephederine, caffine, ect
where you under eating or eating while under stress such as at work or in a stress ful environment
Do you workout consistantly every day?
Do you take a strong multivitamins, extra b complexes,c,e,calcium,mg
Do you salt your food alot with tablesalt

Majority of problems (physical, mentaly)l are caused from mineral and vitamin, nutrient deficencies

Since alot of people with Gastro porblems are usually emotional driven from life changing events it is crucial to evaluate what is the cause of the problem rather then treating symptoms. By treating symptoms you are masking on problem when other problems are still aparent. Stool test are worth less unless carried out by a specific lab which usually takes an open minded dr to send it to.

For now think back to what happened a few weeks or a month prior to all this starting and use that as your starting point. if it was a stress full event bank on it your b complexes, c, a, and other nutrients are lacking. Also if you are having digestive problems try adding in a digestive enzyme and see if that helps, and also a good probiotic tends to cure alot of gastro problems. Stress and stimulants reck havoc on digestion and adrenals, but amazingly it is adrenals that control the digestion and alot of people don't realize this unless it too late.

Pm me if you need any help

FYI

Adrenal problems can create food allergies
i used to drink whey protein all the time, one time I drain it 2 months a go and I broke out in hives !!
