Is this a slow-burning carb?

I just bought some Uncle Ben's brown rice. I'm not sure if it's one of those instant-rice things. It doesn't say it is on the box, but it says that it is Microwavable (except no instructions on how long to microwave are writtenon the box). The instructions say to boil gently over medium low heat for 20 minutes.

The ingredients are: "Uncle Ben's Brand Wholegrain brown rice (parboiled)". Do you guys know what parboiled is? I know that if the Uncle Ben's rice is converted or something like that it completely changes the GI and slow-burning effect of the rice. Do you guys know any thing on this?

I've cooked and eaten this rice and it has the same texture as another 5-Minute Uncle Ben's rice that I've tried. This makes me a bit suspicious but I may be wrong. Any ideas?

If it's microwavable it's instant and not nearly as slow burning as regular long grain brown rice.

I found out that parboiled means it was just partially cooked before being packaged. Even though it says it is microwavable it doesn't have any directions to do it.

On another note, don't you think it would be possible to microwave regular white rice if it was parboiled (partially precooked)?

Yes but you know white rice isn't a slow burning carb right?

Yup, but brown rice is a slow burning carb. So what if you microwaved brown rice? would that make it not slow-burning anymore?

Not the same. When it's been processed like that, meaning partially cooked and then microwaved it kills it and at that point you might has well eaten slow cooked white rice because your getting about the same nutrients from it IMO.

I use success 10-minute brown rice. This has worked great for me and is a staple for my carbs immediately PWO (I dont take glucose or maltodextrin). I cook a large batch of it once a week. Keep the rice in boiling water for 8 minutes and remove. After 10 minutes in boiling water, the rice becomes high glycemic.
