What is the proper ratio of protein to carbs to fat? My trainer says I only really need .7 grams of protein per body pound, anything more is just expensive waste. I am @ 255 pounds right now, my contest is in May. He says I need to lose a pound to a pound 1/2 a week to be ready for my next contest. He wants me to come in lower than I was (213) is that necessary to be more cut???
My other question about the ratio is what is a good caloric intake and it's ratio's of protein/carb/fat. My trainer wants me on a 2000 - 2400 cal/day. Is that okay? I eat a pretty clean diet with one cheat meal on Sundays(Football). Hope I didn't ramble on too much

But from other posts on here this is probably about 10-15% of total calories His carbs would vary depending on whether he was trying to cut or bulk up. So his carbs were the only thing that varied. Protein and fat stayed the same. He would also eat 8 times a day spread every three hours. I chided him on that since I didn't think anyone would get up in the middle of the nite. But he said he was serious. He set the alarm at 12,3 and 6 and would have a protein shake each time. He said his "Job" was to be big, so he had to do it. |
