At first, the media implied it was due to steroids. At least, now its official that it was due to opiates.

Well its bad to see him go... but Roids and Coke dont mix especially if your abusing them. Scared me when i 1st saw the artical when he died because like you said.. "It was because of Roids".

Exactly. Thats why I posted it. Originally, the media made sure to empasize how he admitted taking steroids in the past.

well you know how the wonderful government is...he had steroids in his body at the time of death...so it must be related to the steroids....not the scarface pile of coke he had on the coffee table.

Where did you read that he had juice in him at the time? I only knew that he used in the years before. Death was attributed to the use of opitates (downers) and coke (an upper) at the same time.

They taught us in middle school never to use and upper and a downer at the same time.

Well, if he couldn't manage his rec drugs he probably didn't manage his performance enhancing drugs right either. Who knows how many ways he abused his body with various substances? Made for a great career, but a sorry--and short--life.

I didn't read anything about what was in him at the time of death. I assumed there was steroids involved. It wouldn't surprise me if the government just assumed that because its an athlete that he was on steroids, and that was the cause.

I don't think it had anything to do with coke. it said opiates right, thats like heroin or some painkillers like vicodin, or basically oxycottin. same stuff Ozzys kids were on. to bad, he was the toughest ball player to ever liveno doubt about it . real stand up guy on the field I guess. sad to hear any sport legend die like that. just to much drugs.

The death was caused by a mix of cocaine and opiates.

Elevated T levels were not a factor at the time of death.

They just keep bringing up the fact that he admitted to using AAS the season when he won MVP.

And that's that.

The stats will show another roid related death ... which sucks.

Its like if I smoke a joint today and get into an accident a week from now and kill someone they could say that weed was found in my system even though I wasn't stoned at the time of the accident. That would add to the stats of drivers on weed.

some people I know use xanax to be able to sleep after taking cocaine... but xanax is not an opioid... hmm... still gambling with your life.

My first thought was Ephedra
