I think I injured my right shoulder somehow last monday doing Incline BP. I don't remember lifting a large amount of weight since I dont have a spotter. It might of been just bad form. Anyways when I tried to do my shoulder work out the next day, i got this sharp pain in my right shoulder, it wasnt like a muscle pain. It was like where the bones meet. I had to take a 10min break for the pain to go away, but I could not even continue. Well today, i still feel pain, its not as bad but if I try to lift something, i get the sharp jab. Anyone know if this is serious? I really dont feel like taking time off. If it doesn't go away, i will have to get it checked out. Thanks for your help guys.

AC joint, or Rotator cuff.

go to a doctor get that checked. messed up shoulders suck; I had about 7 dislocated shoulders. It's not cool at all when benchin heavy.

Does it throb?

^No. I notice the pain when I push open doors or even lift up a cup of water to drink. It doesn't seem as painful as this past weekend. I'm taking a few days off from the gym to see if goes away.

If you see a doc, go straight to an orthopedist that specializes in shoulsers. Sounds like rotator to me.

I tore a rotator and it throbed like a broken bone. took 6 mo to a year before i totally recovered. well not sure it will ever totally get better. I was 24 when i did it and now im 38. it flares up now and then when i do butterflies or heavy dumbbells. "well heavy for my old rear." I take it easy on it for a week and it goes away now. but I know when im about to reinjure it, so im careful.

yup sounds like a rotor cuff or sprained shoulder. Im into week two of my rehab for my shoulders.

i'd say rotator cuff.

Incline bp can very easily kill your R.C.'s if you jerk your elbows around while holding the barbell.

You just gotta be careful, bro. You need your shoulders for EVERYthing, so take some time off, and make you are training properly, as well as incorporating rotator exercises with very light weights (helped me greatly)

Go see a physiotherapist (I dont know if that is how its said in english). I dislocated my shoulder a few years back , and I waited a bit too long to get treatement. Now I can do pretty much all my shoulder exercises , but I wont ever be able to throw a baseball again That sux , cuz I used to be a pretty good pitcher in my young age ...

And it seems like you injured your joint/rotator ... My advise is get professionnal
help ASAP.

Another thing that I can say , is try to do some rotator exercises with a sort of rubber band (they have those at my gym) or very very light weights. I know it might look silly sometimes , but those exercises are the ones that helped my shoulder the most. Once your shoulder gets better , start redoing your regular shoulder exercises but with very light weights. Go up in weights training after training to make sure you dont hurt your shoulder once again.

Sounds like the same kind of pain I was/am getting. Rotator cuff. Does the pain shoot down your tricep almost to your elbow?

I've been doing rotator cuff exercise's for about a week now and it has helped so much. You don't realize how much you need your shoulders until you dont have one.

Here are some good rotator cuff exercises:
