yesterday at Powerhouse...

The wife and I left work at noon yesterday and had a very rare weekday-afternoon workout. The gym was crawling with teenagers who were complete assholes. What's the deal with that?? For one, I thought they had school (it was only 1:00). Secondly, they were such dicks! These kids left their plates all over the place, they didn't put their dumbells away, and they left garbage on the floor. As far as their workouts go, they had terrible form in every exercise, trying to lift too much weight and grunting like animals in the process. Finally, they seemd to be clueless in etiquette, as they would routinely walk in front of us and stand between us and the mirrors while we worked our sets. One older guy there got pissed and yelled at them for not cleaning up after themselves. I guess you just have to deal with it and try not to let it bother you.

Just venting here. I am glad we normally workout at 5:00 AM. Very few people at the gym, and they know what they are doing.

IAB.........i hear ya.our gym is connected to the high school.but in Tank fashion,i sorta yelled at a bunch of them several months back that there mommas dont live here,so put your wts back,at the time i didnt see the new admistrator for the center stretching out. to my surprise he give me an atta boy for it.but its hard though cus you dont wanna step on the wrong toes either.youngters nowadays..........makes ya wonder..

well there is something to be said about proper gym etiquette.but the teeagers today are smart a$$es.when i got smart mouthed in front my father, way way back when,i got a good boot to the rear and a cuff across the head and i was told to apologize or else.

Our gym owner won't let anyone younger than 18 use the weight room. Even with that, we have our fair share of inconsiderate A-holes.

If I ever see that little schitt there again (IAB knows which one I mean) I swear, I'm gonna make sure one of his dumbells rolls over my foot when it comes crashing down - then watch me & all the muscle heads near by go POSTAL on his ass.

I like to leave the plates on the leg sled when the fresh meat come in and watch them take it off then half way through say hey i had another set and they always help you put it back on for ya. LOL. I always do that to the bigger HS kids that pick on the little ones.

I hate working out in the afternoons. There are a bunch of HS kids in there who dont do anything but waste my time and take up space.

I agree, no one talks or even looks at you in the morning, most of us you can tell havent had a shower, everyone wears BB hats.

It was like that when I worked out at Bally's. Lots of old men (60's and 70's) sitting around doing nothing. If I got stuck walking behind one of them on the stairs, I was SCREWED, since the weights were on the 4th floor! The Powerhouse I go to now is pretty dead in the morning.

a friend of mine got ballsie and opened up a GOLDS in town 50 miles south of where i live, a couple of us that hang out together are going down there next monday to train,that should be worth it,saves the trip to CALI.

my gym sux in the morning if you want to get anything done. the blue hairs moan and complain about coming for 2 years and still being overweight while they watch people on the treadmills and since I work there and have to take their blood pressure, they bitch at me if its higher than it should be.
the young kids at night suck, leaving towels all over the locker room, plates on machines, empty bottles all over, AAAAAAAAAAAAH!

You are definetly right about the old people. However, there are a few die hard people in there that are extremely focused and have goals to deal with. I just keep my mouth shut and get it done.
