so im gonna need to go under the knife for a partial rotator cuff tear. Im wondering what everones opinion is. Should I continue to gear up and hit everything else but my shoulders ( and no benching) or should i just wait till its all over and fixed?

Do anything that wont hinder your injury. But if you even think there is a chance of re-injurying it dont do it! But, yes continue to do stuff that wont hurt it. Why get farther behind?

every upper body exercise involves the shoulders to some degree, so I see no point.

I would just take a break from training and gear. After your healed gradually get back into it.

I could only do legs for 8 weeks post surgery; then I added in 2 lb DB curls and light cable tri work. Over the next 8 weeks I worked up to 10 lb concentration curls.

It is a slow recovery to say the least.
