Targeting specific part of a muscle

alright, i know there's been countless debates on IM of whether you can target a specific area of a muscle.

I completely understand the reasoning of those that say you can't, because a muscle only flexes one way.

BUT, i must be a genetic freak then. Depending on how i place my feet when doing legs DEFINITELY affects which part of my legs/calves i hit.

I believe it has something to do with the fact i'm bowlegged.

For example, the outer sweep of my quads never grew. I used to only squat/leg press/hacksquat with a toes-pointing-out stance, and the inner teardrop always grew fine. But the outer part lagged.

Ever since i've been putting my feet close together, and even poiting my toes inwards, the outer part of my quads are growing.

Same goes for the outer part of my calves, as well my bi's and tri's (and i won't even get started on upper chest hahaha)

anyways, what gives? again, i understand how a muscle only flexes one way, but could it have something to do with different bio-mechanics that allow some people to grow differently based on how they are positioned?

For 1, the quads are made of of 4 different muscles.
