Who would prefer as your Quarterback.

1. Tom Brady is Joe Montana. Peyton Manning is Dan Marino.

Think about it. One wins championships. The other puts up great numbers. Brady is now 7-0 in the playoffs, matching Troy Aikman for a career-starting winning streak. Almost as significantly, however, Brady is now 6-0 against the Colts and Manning, while Manning has a 2-10 record against the Patriots.

In his six victories against the Colts, Brady has thrown 10 touchdown passes and 4 interceptions. In the same six games, Manning has thrown 9 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.

Neither quarterback was at his best in Sunday’s game. But Brady managed to spread his 18 completions among 10 receivers, throwing a five-yard pass to David Givens in the third quarter for the game’s first touchdown and then scoring the other touchdown himself on a one-yard quarterback sneak.

Now, it’s not all the doing of the quarterback, of course. Brady has a significantly better defense behind him than Manning. But it’s only the quarterback who gets a won-lost record next to his name as a starter, not the other position players. Brady already is blazing a trail that would put him among the game’s greats. The idea, after all, is to win and, as good as Manning is, he hasn’t reached the Super Bowl yet.

Tom Brady, bar none.

Manning is a better passer, but Brady has the rings baby...and the hot women!

I like Manning alot, but I'd go Brady.

Posted by: BoneCrusher

Brady has the luck as well as the skill and timing.

i could have used your analogy this weekend....i was nearly killed when i said something about peyton manning being a "paper champ"

Posted by: Flex

it's a tough call. football is a team sport, bottom line.

as good as a QB may be, they're only as good as the rest of their team...

well I think that Manning is a better QB. Brady is one of the most clutch players we have seen, but also the reason for the rings the Pats have is largely their Great D-fense and overall team factor. i think that is Brady was needed to do the things that Manning has to do for the Colts to win, the rings would be a little bit harder to come by. I have all the respect in the world for Brady and theres no question what he has done is inbelievably special, but I am talking stricly skills-wise, you can't ignore Peyton imo...

Precisely...the only way to make a comparison would be to have them both head up the same team.

Yeah, I'm probably the second biggest Pats fan here next to Flex (from what I've read), but I'd have to say Peyton is a better QB. Obviously I'd rather have Brady, because he's gotten us 2, soon to be 3 superbowls already. Peyton has a stronger and more accurate arm, can run better, and many other good skills as well. I'd have to agree and say Peyton is better skills-wise, but Brady is the man and I'm not the biggest fan of Manning.

what are we talking here??? What qb would I rather have if I was in a Fantasy football league, Manning. If I want to win a championship, that's easy, Brady is the man. The guy's accuracy is insane, he never ( except the INT in Miami) makes a dumb play, and he gets the job done.

By the way, where all you beantown guys from??? Im in worcester here...Boston is the best sports town ever.......ever

He had 3 dumb plays in Miami...and against a 2-11 team.

Marc Bulger

I work in Springfield, but I live in CT.

I'd take Peyton Manning. Don't get wrong, I think Tom Brady is a great QB, leader, and clutch player, but he has benefited tremendously from the coaching of Bill Belichek and that fantastic Patriots defense. The Colts defense has sucked during Peyton's career thus far. If the Colts had the Pats' defense, Manning would have won three Super Bowls already.

I'd take Manning as well head to head. Brady benefits from having one of the best offensive lines in the game who give him wicked protection. That line also opens up massive holes for running the ball, which New England does very very well. He also has a better coach doing the play calling IMO.

Manning's team doesn't have a good run game or offensive line so he has to take over and pass more than he should - and he's damned good at moving out of problems and making key plays.

E. James had 1548 yards rushing this year.. Umm they have a great running game Manning hardly got sacked as well, there offensive line rocks lol.. Their defense? well thats another story...

Uhhhh, Edge had a great year AND Manning got sacked less than anyone in the NFL.

Good, yes
Exciting, yes
Top 3rd of NFL QB's,

Regular season stats mean exactly DICK if you dont win in the playoffs!

Brady is better when it counts. Or at least more consistent.

Posted by: njc

Thats a tough one. I went with Manning though. What people forget about the number of rings aspect is that 21 other people on your team are also factors. Theres 21 other positions helping you win or lose the game. Now I do realize that the q-back position is the most important but jesus 21 other people factoring in is a hell of a lot. Bottom line-put Peyton Manning on the Patriots, they arent going to be any worse thats for damn sure.

IF Payton Manning had the New England defense he wouldn't have that high powered offense. Payton has 3 great WR's, 2 great TE's and a work horse for a running back. Tom Brady has Corey Dillion, a patch work O-line that consists of non drafted players, and some above average WR's.

Coaching....you put Manning on the Patriots he still wouldn't win a SuperBowl.

BIG BEN IS THE MAN! GO STEELERS!

Manning in New England wins championships....

Tom Brady is my pick... if only he was on the Miami team

Miami Dolphins

I vote Peyton Manning, i think without the team if there could be "one on one" matchup between Brady and Manning, Manning would come out on top, wish he played for the my team the Dolphins, we've been struggling at Quarterback after Marino left, we need a new "franchise" QB
