I needed more carbs for breakfast, and i wanted something simple to prepare. Since i was disgustingly sick of oatmeal, i bought quaker oats grits.

In case you don't know, they're made from corn, and there's like 28g carbs/serving, and i eat like 3 or 4 servings per shot.

I was wondering how's these are as far as "clean".

except for high amounts of vitamin K corn is a pretty useless veggie

Actually grits are made from Hominy which is a pretty useless grain. Also, corn is not a veggie it's a grain

hey flex - how 'bout adding some red potatoes with your eggs (if you're eating eggs) for a change?

Try Cream of Wheat or Cream of Rice. .

Alot of people use grits post workout b/c they are a simple carb. Jodi is correct in what she says. People react differently to grits...I love em post w/o but can't use em to long.

Try some potatoes or something along those lines if you need that many carbs. Its tuff to eat that many clean carbs...and oats get boring. You could also try some multi grain bread...its like 20g's of carbs per slice and they are thin so you can pack down alot of carbs easily.

I 'spose i could do red potatoes, but the only thing is i'm strapped for time in the morning. That's why i like using grits or oatmeal, cuz i just throw it in the mic and can leave it alone while i do other shit.

Yea I hear ya on the time contraint. You could try and boil a bunch for the week. Pick one day you have some time and boil a massive pot of them....keep em in the fridge and every morning just pull some out and nuke em. I use to do this with my brown rice and stuff back when I ate it. Now I don't eat enough carbs to get to the brown rice portion of my day...just some oats and a pear LOL.
