Push Ups.

I read the thread about building Biceps. Since it is a small muscle, once a week is good. Since the chest muscles are large, is it ok to do push-ups every day? Or should i do them every other day when i do my regular chest routine?

I only do push ups on rare occasion to warm up for my chest workout, which is once a week.

If your hitting your chest hard enough, there should be no way you'd be able to do push ups every single day. Not to mention, there is no need to do them everyday to begin with.

unless you are new to resistance training push ups are useless for muscle building. you can use them to warm up the chest before training. they are good for building muscular endurance and that's about it

Depends what your training for???
If your a boxer etc then keep doing the push ups,but if its out right strength then dont do it.

He was using it as a reference as to why he thought he could do push-ups everyday, because it is a 'big' muscle

what are you not understanding??? The long head of the bicep crosses the shoulder joint. it helps to perform shoulder flexion. when you do a push up you flex your shouler....

shoulder flexion
- pec major
- anterior delt
- biceps brachii (long head)
- coraco brachialis


what is there not to understand?

So how does that justify doing pushups to build biceps? To build tris, to build pecs, ok. But youre trying to justify pushups to build bi's?
