Agents raid Deerfield firm that sells hormone products on web

Federal agents, acting on a search warrant, swept through a Deerfield Beach company that makes hormone products such as testosterone creams and sells them on the Internet, officials said Tuesday.

Agents from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration office of criminal investigation, with help from the Broward Sheriff's Office, checked records at PowerMedica Inc., officials said. Agents could be seen going in and out of the company's offices at 600 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

PowerMedica, licensed as a pharmacy, is headed by Chief Executive Daniel L. Dailey, who organized it in 2000. Dailey could not be reached with calls to the office.

On its Web site, PowerMedica says it makes its own treatments, including testosterone creams and gels that sell for as much as $175 a tube and a seven-syringe package of growth hormone for $520. The Web site promotes the use of hormones to combat the effects of aging, an approach that has been subject to debate in the medical community.

Hormones can be sold only with a prescription. The company has an online registration form and refers patients to a list of South Florida doctors who can issue a prescription.

An FDA official on the scene declined to comment, as did a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Miami. A spokesman for the Sheriff's Office said only that deputies arrested a company employee who was found with a small amount of marijuana.

They were too open about it and did not follow the guidelines of this type of business as closely as they should have.

Even companies that run a careful business are open to getting raided now. No more just putting some kind of weak disclaimer up "We sell our products for research purposes only" is not gonna cut it.

Did you for real bro? I wouldn't be announcing that in the open. If it wasn't legit and for HRT i'd clean house if I were you, and clean your computer. No doubt the feds have all their files.

i actually called this place a few months back inquiring about a few things. they sent me brochures, but i never ordered. Then this freakin guy "Gianni" or some shit kept calling me to try and sell me shit.

Animal got busted long before Chong. Feds confiscated items and took forever returning them, probably never did, even though he was found innocent of all charges.

Defense costs money, and even if innocent you are still the one getting screwed.

I don't think he ever got his stuff back. If he did I haven't heard of anyone saying that he did. I remember seeing post by A where he was spending shit loads of money to no avail. I think it actually happened twice didn't it?
