I read in a thread somewhere that you should stay away from baby carrots? If so, how come?

If you're dieting for competition stay away, if not eat away. That's what I say anyway. Yay.

Carrots have the highest sugar content of veggies after beets.
That's why they aren't the best choice of veggies, off season I have at 'em anyway because I love them but pre-contest they are a big no no for me.

Corn is also a no no..grrr. Fresh corn on the cob in the summer is so yummy. Also, peas, but less so.

Yup - because corn is a grain and peas are a legume!

Wow this is all news to me. I guess I will have to change my choice of veggies... thanks for the information

You would have to eat a whole hell of a lot of baby carrots to have any real affect on blood sugar. I seriously wouldn't be too concerned at all.

I agree with that - they are low in calories and have a low GI as well.. But at the end of the day, if you are cutting (and I mean competition cutting here - final few weeks) there are better vegetables to eat.
