Well?

Posted by: Hillside

The old metal set they had went up to 120's but the new rubber coated bells they got only go up to 100.

40 kg which is 88lb

100...not that I've seen anyone touch them except myself and the owner.

Posted by: cappo5150

My gym has them up to 200 but I've never seen anyone use them.

100.

From all the photos I've seen, when the weights become insufficient, you're supposed to hang pretty women on the weight or device.

Posted by: Purdue Power

We have 150s, and I think I am one of the only ones that use them. I just use them for shrugs. I have outgrown them long ago. I wish we had up to 200s.

Posted by: Flex

used to be 150, but my gym got pussified, so now only 80's.

the gym i'll eventually transfer to has 180's

Posted by: thatguy

Unfortunately, only 110's.

Posted by: NipsMG

80's

Posted by: ChrisROCK

wow...80s are way too low...even for me.. I can only imagine for some of you big dawgs...

Posted by: KarlW

Mine has 120's. I used to use them for lateral raises but they've become too light. Tried using very strict form, holding them out there for 20 seconds or so, but I just don't get the pump I used to. If I could find some willing gals in swimming costumes I might be able to start progressing again.

80...

If you have maxxed the dumbbells out use a barbell and use two hands... like shrugs...

Only 115 unfortunatly.

Posted by: Rocco32

200lbs. And I have seen people use them for more than shrugs. Pretty impressive!

Yeah, and work your calves with 3 people sitting on your back like Arnold does.

Posted by: PreMier

150. There are several who use them for pressing movements.

Posted by: ihateschoolmt

130.

Posted by: maniclion

my dream is to get the 125 Powerblocks and then hex's above that to save space, but right now I have dumbell bars I can load 200lbs on but wouldn't cause I don't trust the collars. Highest Ive gone is 150.

You aint kiddin! I just grab it and stand over them till they are ready. These guys are monsters though...last time I did it he started pressing while I was above him and he lifted me clear off the ground...thats a strong mother f'er boy . Thats like a 300+lbs bench on one arm!!

Posted by: CowPimp

My previous gym had 140s. My new gym only has 120s.

Posted by: KarlW

Actually mine has 140's, not 120's like I thought. Still too light for my lateral raises.

Posted by: I Are Baboon

115. Not bad for a health center. I've never used dumbells over 95.

Posted by: GIZmo_Timme

53kg = 116.6 LBS

Posted by: nmuriqi

100's...i can do the 80's for about 3 reps of flat db press...lookin forward to those 100's one day...can't wait to grab those bitches.

Posted by: wannagetbig2001

Wow I'm SURPRISED about the response - I Thought MOST gyms would go up to at least 150.

We have 1 pair of 200 and 2 pairs of 180

Posted by: sgtneo

ours go up to 50kg's about 120lbs i think

Posted by: Mags

The new dungeon i've joined where true monsters dwell, they hit 200. Seen some of the fellas press 180 so far, but i'm nooooooo way touching that. I think i would physically break my arms doing those.

Posted by: Mags

The old gym I went to, which is also a health fitness type, they had 110's which a fair few of us could use for the usual presses and rows etc. Didn't I see a photo of Mudge the other day hammer curling 100's though?

Posted by: luke c.

120 i think...hardly ever used

Posted by: Maynard Keenan

The dumbells at my gym go to 120 lb. but the owner got these ones you can turn into 165. The olympic weights fit on these bars(3 25s on each side. There very bulky to work with.

My gym goes to either 130 or 150, can't remember. The reason most gyms don't go above 85lbs is that above that point the insurance rates jump. That is why the Ballys' in this area don't go higher than 85.

Never thought of that. Probablyt explains why my gym only goes up to 85. They've even got a sign on the wall telling people who need higher weight to use the Cybex machines.

Posted by: BigDyl

300's. I usually do hammer curls in my sleep with them.

I dunno, but it kind of pissed me off when I read it. Anyone with any knowledge knows that machines aren't as effective as free weights. The sign is in response to a letter someone wrote requesting heavier DBs. The letter is posted there too. Sometime this summer I plan to dump the place and sign up at Golds.

200s

I've seen 2 guys use them for presses. I've used them to Farmer's Walk, One-handed Deadlift and to do sidebends for my core(PLEASE DON"T REVOKE MY ACESS TO THE SITE!!!). I tried walking lunges with them and after doing three, I thought my knees were going to explode.

160's. They didnt have these until about a year ago when a few of us guys kept harping at the owner to get some bigger bells. We were shocked when he bought the new bells 110,120,130,140,150's and 160's! HE was shocked when some of us could actually press those things!
