Hi every body,,

I am about to start bulking and get two questions:

A: Should I stop doing cardio while bulking?

B: It took me 15 minutes driving from gym to home, can I take my Post WO shake once I reach home instead taking it in the gym right away after my last set.

Note: My main goals are not storing any fat and gaining muscle.

thanks,

show us some stats.

I would cut out cardio completely, the goal is to utilize all calories for mass building, you don't want to burn them off.
Also, I would have a protein shake right away. Just have it ready to go in your car with a bottle of water.

also, your going to have to store SOME fat to bulk well. You can burn it off later

Unless your very ectomorphic, like me. I didn't want any fat for 6 months.

there is no reason to completely stop cardio unless you simply can not gain weight

Firstly, eat plenty of good clean carbs. Eat 1.5g per lb bodyweight of good proteins (lean meats, fish, eggs etc) and the essential fats everyday. If you're up with calories, try 4k per day (I don't really know any of your stats e.g. height, weight etc. so can't give you a more accurate idea) and adjust/increase it as you grow. If your careful with your diet, you can build up with minimal fat, but alittle will be there no matter what. Secondly, try the basic power movements like Bench, deadlift (unless you have an easy expanding waist, maybe try bent rows or T-bar rows? instead) and squat to pack on some serious size and then train arms, shoulders etc after/on other days. Stay in the 6 to 8 rep range but at times employ powerlifting reps or just try odd sets at 4-6. Smash your muscles to bits when youtrain, rest enough and eat like a friggin' horse. Personally, i don't do cardio when training for mass and I'm fortunate to keep growing withoput storing too much fat. I'd make sure you have agood carb drink after training too, either with the protein or on it's own Try fruit juices or supplements. Remember they need to be fast digesting carbs ( sucrose, fructose, dextrose etc) or a mixture of faster and more sustained. Personally, I believe carbs are more urgent than protein post workout than protein. Protein post training is vital though. Have a high carb drink immediately after then either follow it with protein, but I don't think 15 minutes is too much time to worry if you wanna have your whey at home. Others will disagree but that's just MO.
