Bi's and tri's

I am trying a new routine which has me working bi's and tri's on the same day. How should I go about this? Should I alternate exercises (one exercise for bi's, then one for tri's) or just do all of the bicep ones then the tricep ones?

I think you should do all the tricep exercises then all the bicep exercises. Working those muscles wont make the other one fatiqued.

im currently working biceps and triceps together and i do one set of a tricep exercise and then one set of a bicep exercise superset style..im happy with tht...it seems to save time too because i dont rest between the tricep and bicep exercise..

If you are a begginer, I would suggest working all tris and then all bis or vis versa and not mix a tri-bi supperset. If you are an experienced lifer, you will know in a few weeks if it is working for you or not.

I was working bis and tris on the same day for a while. I would work bis then tris one week. The next week I would work tris then bis. I was not happy with the gains and wanted to free up another day for rest (I have 2 rest days a week now). I started working bis on back day and tris on chest day. I have only been doing this routine for a few weeks but I feel good about the change. I figure in a few more weeks I will know if it is working any better.

if you switch between muscle groups, then youre waiting too many minutes between excercises on the same muscle group.

I do all of my bis then I do my tris. I have always got good results from that.

I saw good results from doing what phantom said. If i blasted my tris on one set, and my breath was back after 45 seconds, but my tris were still shot. There is no reason to sit there and waste time and lose intensity sitting there. So instead I would hit my bis, and go back and forth until the workout was complete.

Can you post the entire split that you plan to do?

It's fine is you do chest and shoulders on the same day also. If you don't then you are over working your tri's big time. You'd be hitting them three times a week and you know you won't grow that way man!

Do both! - cycle doing all biceps then all triceps one week, and the next week alternate bi's and tri's.
