So what do you all think. Is the CKD diet a good way to lose fat or not?

I said it suck. Personally I feel it is a great diet for those with great self control. However, most people don't understand the difference of a refeed to a full blown cheat day. I've found that many with the lack of discipline will actually get fatter trying to do a CKD than doing a regular caloric deficit type diet. People use the free days to wildly and end up eating way too many calories. I've seen very few actually get good results from a CKD.

OMG,

AVOID THE FOLLOWING:

Do not eat nuts or seeds in large amounts, as they often have too much carbohydrates. Foods that combine protein and carbohydrates, such as chickpeas, kidney beans and other legumes, are not permitted.

I would be so unhappy!

I know you think it sucks Jodi, LOL! I do have very good self control, but I'm trying to figure this diet out. If I know what to do, I can do it. I've read your sticky several times but I'm still pretty confused.

Carb cycling has nothing to do with ketosis.

IMO i think ketosis is over rated, but i like the idea of carb-ups/refeeds mostly because of the fact that it gives you a mental break from dieting. It is a double edged sword, because as Jodi said most people just think its a cheat day and start eating pizza and shit. You'd be surprised how your food choices get cut down when you need to keep fat minimal.

I am on the it now. So far so good.

Works for me...

I hate low carbs.

Posted by: bludevil

So TCD, if you hate low carbs I take it you just do a basic iso-caloric diet when cutting? How many cals do you drop per week.
