Hi im new at this and im looking for a bit of advice. Ive only been goin the gym for 2 months and i have a problem doing my biceps. when im doin the ez, barbell or dumbells my wrist amd forearm gets sore and i tink the ez bar caused it. any advice on how to get through it

The preacher bench and ez-curl bar often cause my wrists and forearms intense pain. Just recently i got it from doing heavy preachers, and it lasted about 2 weeks. During that time, I laid off of any barbell or ez-bar curls.... If i were you, i would do the same...only use dumbbells for a while, and go easy. Allow them to recoop. In the future, i would avoid preacher and the ez-curl bar.

While mine were sore, i iced them multiple times per day for 15 minutes at a time.

You're overworking your forearms. It probably would help if you took a break from those exercises, then add in some grip/forearm exercises to your schedule later. Check this thread:

I disagree with the overworking of the forearms comments. That has nothing to do with sore wrists. It's an issue with the bar and stress that an ez-curl or barbell can place on the wrists and forearms. I'm well aware of the difference between typical soreness and Pain.... and while my forearms felt "sore"...it hurt and required time off to fully recoop.

I had forearm pain after heavy deadlifts a couple times. My forearms actually bruised to the point where it looked like a bad skin rash (that was within a couples hours of doing the deads) and the bruising lasted for a few days. It was tough to even pick up a book without any pain. I basically just had to take it very easy for a while to allow myself to heal.

I disagree as well. I currently have tenderness in my right forearm specifically. I get it starting at the wrist and moving up to the elbow. Depending on each person's joints and such, some people get this commonly when doing rather intense curls. I get it from heavy preacher curls and heavy BB curls as well. Although I know it causes this, I do them anyway. I take Aspirin which has the anti-inflamatory Ibuprofren. This makes it go away in 20 minutes. Since exercises and weight can change from one week to another I find I only have this issue occasionally. As you said before, doing some bicep days with other types of exercises other than preacher and bb curls will help and lessent he effects.

Lis...that's EXACTLY how i get it as well. Haven't thought to take ibuprofen immediately after though, but icing it and tiger balm always gives some relief. I get it the worst from preachers and barbell curls.....but I just suck it up, b/c they're too critical to cut out of my routine. When i do really heavy preachers....i cringe when i have to let go of the bar, because thats when the intense pain kicks in my right forearm.

Yeah putting the bar down just basically blows I take the Ibuprofren as long as needed. It works wonders for things such as this... and shin splints and all sorts of stuff. God bless the anti inflamatory meds.
