my overall goal is to lose body fat and i would like to gain LBM but i realize its probably not going to happen.

I train with HST (3 training days)

I was wondering if...
on those training days if I get around 200 cals of excess
and on non training days i get a ~650 cal deficit
while eating over 1-1.5 g of protein per lb
and eating clean.

would the excess calories on the training days promote muscle growth (i realize it isnt much extra) or do you think it would just promote storage?

200 more than maintenance or 200 more than your 650 calorie deficit?

maintenence (including exercise)

Training days stay at maintenance and non training days go to a deficit. However a 650 cal deficit sounds like a lot. Start with 200 cal. Also if you are doing cardio that will create a further deficit.
