I want to bulk as well as burn fat. This article http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/satter2.htm makes sense to me and it talks about doing both. I dont understand. Plz let me kno what u think. For just bulking I kno i have to eat a lot. Is oatmeal a good thing to eat while bulking? Also I have creatine and glutamine. Whether or not you guys agree the article says to take that as well as whey before and after training. Thats probably a good idea eh?

Im really sry guys about starting that other thread. It was an accident the browser screwed up and i did it twice by mistake. *apologies*

ok, your going to gain fat while bulking no matter what. there will always be some your going to get, which is why most people do a cut after bulking unless they like the look they get from being bigger and less cut (which some do). and yes to the oats, yes yes yes yes. i eat about 400g of carbs a day from oats, and its getting me there in good style. you should look to make your diet higher in carbs than protein, check out the guide the cutting bulking and maintenance at the top of the diet and nutrition forum. that should give you a good idea of what you should be eating to gain, and then there are training articles on iron magazine that should help with what to do for gaining mass with workouts. there are good ones and better ones. all up to you though

Yes oats are great for bulking. I even have oats when I'm cutting.

First thing: Im fairly new here too but isnt it a bit disrespectful to link to a "competitors" website?? Im not dogging you, just seemed strange to me. As for your ideas/questions about bulking: its fairly common knowledge among experienced bodybuilders that its almost impossible to BULK and to lose fat, not IMPOSSIBLE but difficult. Im in the process of trying to do the same thing though and I about willing to try anything, funny thing is I am basically doing what this article describes and so far it seems to be working. Ive put on size all over and shrunk my waste too.

400 grams of carbs a day just from oats.........theres like 26 grams per 1/2 cup......how many truckloads does it take to get in 400 grams? LOL

That`s mucho oatmeal!!

I guess im just going to try bulking hardcore then cut later. Can I do cardio too? How do guys recommend I go about that so i dont burn muscle.

--About cutting. How long does that take to actually notice a diff. Like muscle definition an stuff. Im not overweight right now jus cant see my muscles real good...

Dont do more than 25 mins or so, take plenty of glutamine.

When trying to add size I would only do cardio 3 x a week..........walking on an inclined treadmill..........30 minutes at a clip.

When trying to get leaner,it will depend on your diet, and how dedicated you are to it,your metabolism, your work ethic in the gym,and your cardio, as to when you see results...................in most cases if things are spot-on,you`ll start seeing some changes at around the 4 week period, depending on the above variables.

Just eat - at 140# and 5'10 you DO NOT need to worry about shedding 'fat'. EAT and gain some muscles first - these will then do the work for you when it comes to burning bodyfat.
