Lifting every other day better for protein usage?

Is it better to work out every other day so the muscles worked have 48 hours to be the main focus of receiving protein? In other words, if you workout chest on one day and then back on the next, are you taking away from the amount of protein your chest will receive because your back will be using some of it?

Not if your eating enough. Try scheduling out your workouts. Work each body part once a week and split those into 3-4 workouts. This way your muscles have maximum recovery time and you can keep muscles from conflicting(i.e. back/biceps or chest/triceps)

Your body absorbs and utilizes all the protein it requires for repair on a daily basis......as long as you are providing enough of it.
