Who have you found to be the most personable pro athletes? This can be by meeting them and having a good talk, e-mail, sending through the mail for autographs, whatever.

For me-

Bodybuilding:
Jay Cutler - Replies to e-mails quick and friendly, very nice in person.
Gunter Schlierkamp - Outstandingly nice. My buddy and I went to a show where he was guest posing and we met him in a Starbucks that afternoon before he posed. He talked to us and seemed like an old friend. When we were at the show that night and we were walking by, he yelled out, "Hey, guys! Nice to see you again!" And the rest of the night people were asking us how long we've been friends with him. It was great.

Swimming:
Tom Wilkins - Goes out of his way to make time for fans.
Megan Jendrick (Quann) - Replies to all my e-mails, very friendly, signs autographs for hours and I watched as she blew her agent off once for trying to pull her out of a crowd that swarmed her for autographs.

Football:
Curtis Martin - Spends hours after games talking to fans, holds up the team bus to do so

Russ Testo for me, he was incrediblly nice and very talkative and supportive.

Denise Masino was very nice.

Kurt Warner was awesome when I met him!!!

This is an interesting topic.
Half playing the devil's advocate and half serious, what do you expect from pro athletes?

They're just like normal people, where some will be cool and some will be dicks. Although, I think many of them are given reasons to be dicks to fans/media, cuz they are looked at like Gods and get no privacy.
I think its just difficult to distinguish the the ones who become cold due to the respect they are shown (none) from those who are just plain dickheads (TO, Moss...)

I think in general most of 'em enjoy the attention and rave they get, and are friendly back to people. But that shit must get old real quick.

I think if you turn pro there's a bit of an understanding that fans make your check, so you should be nice. But, obviously that isn't always the case.

as far as bodybuilding I like Tom Platz, met him back in the 80's, then went to his ISSA seminar about 1.5 years ago and spent 2 days with him, great guy!

No doubt about it.
But it SHOULDNT be the case, because most fans show athletes VERY little respect.

To go up to a pro and ask him to sign autographs/take pics while he's eating at a restaurant with his family is just absurd. And that's only the beginning of what they guys hafta deal with on a daily basis...
