Do you guys reccommend this exercise for shoulders?
If not what are some other good shoulder workouts?
Thanks

I recommend them. Mix it up. Lateral raises are great.

I like Arnoled presses. Otherwise people will tell you that shoulder presses are unessesary, let alone Arnold presses. If you think that your delts get enogh work from benching and what not you dont have to work on Arnold presses's. I would do them though in moderation to work on some huge delts, even though I wish I had huge delts. Today was a back day.

I think the arnold press is one of the most overrated exercises. I stick to heavy military pressing and moderate weight on db laterals

I really like cables for the shoulders, i think its important to use a natural range of motion

I have to agree with him on that, I don't get much out of it.

To each his own really...Saying that Arnolds are THE only exercise for huge delts is like saying that 3X10 is the perfect set/rep range for everyone in every situation!
I love arnolds and have built what I consider to be decent shoulders using them, but not exclusively of course....

Exactly...what works for one person won't work for another person.

I didn't say that.

I used to alternate Arnold presses with regular presses every 3 months for variety, and I always noticed I got better gains doing the regular presses than the Arnolds this while doing both exercises with perfect form.

I like the military barbell press and dumbell press, remember to focus on the muscle involved. The mistake I did in the past was used too much tricep in my shoulder movements.
Laterals are great too, although like Lam said use moderate weight.

I didn't say that.
I know u hadnt said anything to that effect Mino...Im simply telling this person that anyone who "swears" by one exercise or "guarantees" that this one movement will provide growth to its full extent has got his or her head up his or her ass!

Understood.

i think this is one of those exercises that vary from person to person...i personally rotate arnolds with military presses every so often...i think its a good exercise as long as your maintaining proper form

Oh yea, Arnold press should definetly not be the only lift done for shouders. I dont really work on my shoulder to much because I feel they get hit pretty hard from various forms of benching (incline, decline, flat) but for some added shoulder work I will throw in some arnold presses or shoulder presses, even lateral raises.
